I’ll start off by saying I’ve watched very little of him. But I read all of the scouting profiles and he seems like Dak 2.0 (hopefully that doesn’t sidetrack the thread): he wouldn’t be more than your 3rd QB this year but given MM’s love of drafting QB’s every year, would you spend a 4th and hope to flip in a few years for a higher pick?

Whatever..

I’m tired of these types to be honest and if Dak goes down I’d rather just take L’s because we’re not competing for a championship anyways.

Next time we draft a QB I’d like for it to be a guy that’s a legit talent instead of one of these types.

I’m ok with just going with Gilbert.

no, IMO, he is not good at much of anything you want from an NFL QB.
You want to draft another project, I'd rather take Book. ps. I hate ND

As a ND fan, Ian Book's ceiling was a good college QB. He doesn't have the talent to be an NFL player - specifically arm talent. He can't throw outs and is poor at driving the ball down the field.

No.

Good college quarterback. But there will be one or more of those available after the draft you can get for a song. Not worth drafting, too many negatives that you just can't coach out...

Has a 2nd round grade as of now

Overrated imho. But I know that Chris Simms thinks he's better than that, not that he's the authority on quarterbacks, but at least he played the game and his job is to make such evaluations. So I could easily be wrong...

Perfect developmental QB. I'd like Mond or J. Newman on day 3. Draft a QB every year.

yep and still better than Mound

Absolutely. And the coolest scenario that could play out would be for him to hafta come in and replace Dak in a freak preseason injury and Kellen go back in time to smashmouth(in addition to after drafting Slater, lol) and the team have a 13-3 record. Oh yeah and Dak would have been required to have his own press conference in November saying how Kellen has earned his starting job and should continue as the starter. Such as a meritocracy.

Now THAT would be some fun times around here, lol.

Wouldn’t hate the idea. I think we have two 4ths; it’d be nice if it was the comp. 4th rounder. Mond has some unique tools to work with.

The only 2 QBs worth drafting after the 1st round this year:

Davis Mills, Stanford
Feleipe Franks, Arkansas

I watched many of Kellen Mond's games over the last few years. He is Dak lite. Accuracy sucks, and decision making questionable, but he is active and will run with descent arm.

If Dallas is going to take a QB, not in the 1st, let it be Davis Milss from Stanford. He at least makes quick decisions.

Honestly if Mond was Daks backup, you at least wouldn't have to change anything with the offense.

He ain't it. Everytime I watched Mond (during season) it looked like a struggle with him at QB. I agree with @Dalmations202 David Mills is a better prospect imo.

I say Nah.

You should draft a late round QB every year.
Mond has potential.
