I am asking, "What bearing does that have on the Cowboys?" They have many individuals, from which to choose at 10. BPA, is primary, but no-one knows the draft board.

No but it isn’t like this team has a ton of older players either that you need to replace in a year.

Now if the Cowboys get creative and say take Pitts or Chase and then flip Gallup for more picks, then I can get behind that.

I think he is in the last year of his rookie contract so he is basically trying out for not only the Panthers but also a handful of other teams.

Hope he can turn things around. his price tag woun't allow otherwise.

Don’t mistake my point. I am not advocating that we need Pitts or Chase. I am arguing that taking Pitts or Chase at 10 makes more sense if they have another move behind it.

I don't think it takes them out of the running entirely, but I think it decreases the chance drastically. Darnold is peanuts this year, has a club option next year and they're still paying Bridgewater for two more years.

Panthers need a lot so I don't think they're locked into a position, but if you like Parsons/Surtain, you might be shifting around a bit more uncomfortably right now.

I forgot they had Bridgewater. If they do go QB then Bridgewater probably has to get shipped which likely means they don’t go QB this year.

That cements the first 3 picks are QBs. Now the next domino to fall is to see who trades way up to take Lance or whoever else is left after the first 3

Aerolithe_Lion - I agree with you. Atlanta picking at 4 - does the new GM & HC stick with vet QB Ryan and get him the "generational talent" TE Pitts, the top rated OT \ OLineman Sewell - or trade down for extra\ future picks?

At that price, almost worth it to get him as a backup. Wow they gave him away.
Bad news is I now don’t think Surtain will be there at 10 either. If Surtain is gone that makes Parsons the top D player and seems a reach at 10, not talent per se, just positionally.

Panthers have a big hole across from Donte Jackson at CB so they're definitely a player in that market.

As others have said, I bet Carolina stays at 8 and picks a receiver or offensive lineman. I think this somewhat increases the odds that one of the top QB's could fall to 10 and we could have a good offer to trade back.

This also may somewhat increase the chance that Surtain is gone before out pick but I don't think that's horrible . There will be a top talent available at 10 for us to select or trade down for more picks.
