Bad news is I now don’t think Surtain will be there at 10 either. If Surtain is gone that makes Parsons the top D player and seems a reach at 10, not talent per se, just positionally.

surtain was a reach as well and LB is a more immediate impact position. Less growing pains

Panthers are an up and coming team - year two with their FO and touted HC & OC.
The NFC South will be an interesting side story to look at after our Cowboys focus. Bucs defending champs, Brees retiring from the Saints, Falcons with a new regime (GM+HC).

They had the number 1 pick all season then went and won a few meaningless games.
Had they planned on keeping Sam Darnold then that's fine, but to win those games then draft a QB is insane imo.

8th pick is up for grabs now. A team needing a CB can jump Dallas if Surtain is their guy. It also means, that if a team wants another "blue chip" caliber player, they can move up to 8.

Needs are probably irrelevant, but...

The Panthers don't have a TE that would keep them away from Pitts.
They don't have tackles that would keep them away from Sewell or Slater.
They don't have the strength and depth at WR that would keep them away from one of the WRs.
They had a bad run and a bad pass defense last year.

I would assume they'll take whoever tops their board.

there is an alternate universe where QBs go 1-2-3-4-5 in this draft. That would be amazing news for anyone drafting immediately after (like you guys) who aren’t looking at QB
