Actually, the Cowboys have been pretty good at drafting for a long time when compared to other teams over the long run.

Probably doesn’t fit your agenda, though.
We’ve drafted well
We’ve sucked at FA very bad though

I honestly don’t care ab the debate of “which WR is better?”

The fact is.. CeeDee is a great receiver and he showed his promise with a few spectacular catches last season. Fact is.. before Dak went down, Lamb was on a torrid pace. Yes, possibly that would have tailed off a bit throughout the season, but as a rookie, the NFL definitely wasn’t too big for him. There’s no doubt in my mind, Jefferson would have had competition as the top Rookie wideout.

That said, he made a few rookie mistakes that he’ll want to improve on.. but given the condition of our offense, I believe he handled himself like a pro.

Cowboy fans should be exited about his potential and future... I am.

Playing NFL wide receiver at a feather over 190? Dayum.

And I appreciated the stat breakdown. This opinion maybe doesn't go quite deep enough to truly cover the after effects of all the stats, he touches on all the bases.

An example of that is when he says Juedy had five drops in a game they lost by 4 points, including a possible. Well that's great...touched base on a TD drop.....but was that the reason....the only reason? they lost?

I know...you can only go so deep before you're in the rabbit hole. Such is the way of sports stats.

I'm glad to have Lamb. But when do we give the defense a sure-fire stud? Or couple.

IMHO jury still out on this til he has Dak for 16 like Jefferson had cousins.

It doesn't matter. Jefferson was the best last year. That's what history will show. That doesn't mean he's the better playerr over all or for his career, but he was last year.

Really? Is that why one player from the 2017 draft is left on this team? Or why we took a RB with the 4th overall pick, especially with Ramsey sitting right there and Henry in the 2nd? LVE and Jaylon have been horrible. Jerry wanted Paxton Lynch and got lucky with Dak.

They’ve been somewhat successful on offense but horrendous on defense.

As a Cowboy fan who hates when Lions fans argue that "Emmitt was only good because of his OL, Barry was better and had less blah blah blah" I won't get into who Lamb had as supporting cast vs who Jefferson did.

They both had great rookie seasons, Jeffery was on another level but Lamb was amazing and easily the 2nd best among rooks last year.

IDK about that. Ceedee lamb played good but Justin Jefferson was a beast.
Not coming out of college he didn't. Lamb was best receiver going into the draft.

As far as their rookie year in the league rankings change and not taking anything away from Jefferson but with Dak, Lamb was better

When was the last time we took a defensive player very high besides LVE
Drafts aren’t judged by how many players you extend but how many are still playing in the league
And wasn’t that the year we didn’t have a one?

I'm an OU fan and I love CeeDee.

That said, he's got to be better. Was too many huge drops and key moments.

I'm also not sure how well he fits with Dak.

Eight drops the entire season with inconsistent QB play.

Think maybe you are being a bit harsh?

Define “real high”. A second round pick is still high but if you’re only talking first round then look no further than 2017 and Taco Charlton. Complete bust.

Drafting well also includes finding value on both sides of the ball, not just offense. Drafting a RB with the 4th overall pick with a stud CB sitting right there was a horrible draft choice and lack of understanding positional value. Especially when we could have had Henry in the second. I can go on about not grabbing TJ Watt but Taco instead, again if they were that good at drafting they wouldn’t be passing on players like that for scrubs.

Drafts are largely judged by how many players are extended because if they’re not, in most cases, it’s because they didn’t live up to their draft spot. I really don’t care how many players are still in the league that we drafted, they could be scrubs on other teams like most people here say anytime we let a guy walk “oh, we didn’t need him anyways, he was just a jag”.

If you believe better stats automatically equal better player than Jefferson wins that one for last season.
The question I ask is what would Jeffersons stats been if the Cowboys drafted him and how would Lambs stats have been if the Vikings drafted him? Lamb was the 3rd option on a team with several QB's. Jefferson was te 1st or 2nd option most of the year.

Great season for Jefferson.

If we could draft over and had the choice I am still going CD over Jefferson.
