Jok - Ss

Before the season started Parsons was the best defensive player in college football. He decides to sit out the season and he drops to the teens. Then draft nicks say he has bust potential and rate Bolton a slow/short linebacker over him. Parsons has the potential to be the best linebacker in the NFL. I would sleep well if the Cowboys draft him at 10.

You like him and that is fine. He may turn out to be a good player in the NFL. Its all just evaluation, projection & where is the appropriate place to select the player. Not saying I wouldn't draft him, just not at 10.
However, the concerns over the quantity & quality of college football he has played are real. Every year there are dozens of players with enormous physical abilities that are complete busts. Being good at a sport is far different from just being a good athlete. Our current LB crew is proof enough of why you can't just take potential at premium draft slots.

As for Bolton, not saying he is perfect but many times the less athletic player who can read\diagnose the play makes the play before the freaks know what is happening.

But Parsons has + instincts and a ton of production...that's what makes him so good.

It's not like we'd be rolling the dice on an elite athlete athlete that doesn't know what he's doing. He's younger to the position, but he's already shown he can be a stud on the field.

The clips of him I have seen didn't seem to show instincts which is one of the things that scared me. If that isn't the case, then yes I would feel better about him but still have concerns about the coverage, experience & maturity. As someone else stated, I did see Jaylon type issues but maybe I'm being too hard on Parsons because I'm overly traumatized.

I think I would still rather trade back and get JOK and pick up a LB later if for no other reason than it will be difficult to get a pure LB on the field this year if they insist on playing Jaylon which they will. In 23 days, the decision will be made for us.

The dude racked up 50+ run stops in a single season...that’s not possible unless the player diagnoses quickly and explodes to the ball.

I love JOK, but he’s a SS in the NFL that doesn’t help our LBr issues. He’s one of my top trade down targets as well but if we take him I’m still looking for a LBr.
