I know this has ended poorly in the past...but could also be a sign he’s going to be drafted a lot higher than we all think

Awful, awful draft.

Take a look at Brown and Kinlaw from last year and tell me Barmore is at that level.

No way.

I dont care what happened or didn't happen in their rookie years and what any of you want to tell yourselves what Barmore is.

Be happy to grab one starter from this draft.

Itll end up as one of the worst of the last 20 years.

I feel Barmore has top 15 talent. I don't know if he's top 10 in this draft class, but I wouldn't sweat it if Dallas believed he was. You want to find game-changers in the first round and I believe Barmore will be a game-changer. He has some development to do as a run defender, which is the only thing keeping him out of the top 10 IMO. However, if the name of the game is to put pressure on the passer, I think he's a sure bet.

"Barmore has earned pass-rushing grades of 88.1 (2019) and 91.5 (2020) in his two seasons at Alabama."

Elite pass rushing DT. Obviously a need for Dallas.

He's the 12th best player in the draft and would be an immediate upgrade to our defense. Marcus Spears' two point plan to fix the defense is fix the secondary and upgrade the pass rush on the interior defensive line. Everyone gets excited about even the mention of Irving coming back and that's what Barmore gives you in spades. Dan Quinn's vision-and-break cover 3 relies on a strong pass rush to be successful. I can't post the article but if your interested do a search for strengths and weaknesses of DC dan quinn's base defense if you want to read about it. It explains why they're looking at players like Milton Williams.

Barmore would probably be 5 or 6 on my list of guys to pick. I could get down with picking him in a trade down. The traits are there, he produced, got better and better as the season went along, and is still young. But I think we can do better at 10

Barmore is right up there with Derrick Brown and Javon Kinlaw as a prospect. He’s got the size, burst, length and flexibility to win in several different ways. But more importantly, it’s already led to elite production. Barmore has earned pass-rushing grades of 88.1 (2019) and 91.5 (2020) in his two seasons at Alabama.

Ok buddy. And lol at "i dont care what they did as rookies". Of course you dont. The egos on this website, I tell ya.

My issue with Barmore is this:

For the last 4 games of the season he looked like a guy that was well worth a top 15, if not 10, pick.

But the rest of the season...he looked no better than Dixon or McNeil.

I believe I read he had an ankle injury in the spring that could be the reason he didn’t his full stride until late. Or is he just inconsistent? If I felt sure that we would get the player from the last 4 games I would take Barmore at 10, just not sure how possible it is to feel confident in that.

He's the top DIL in the draft. Not sure why his being invited would surprise anyone. He's going to be overdrafted just for that reason.

Barmore was coming off of ankle injury to start last season, thus why he didn't shine until late in the season. I don't care who you are, a serious ankle injury will slow down any player, especially a big guy who plays in the trenches. The Barmore that we saw the last 4 games (including playoffs) is a healthy Barmore who showed what he can truly do when healthy and motivated. He most definitely is worth our #10 pick.

The funny thing about this is Barmore actually performed on the highest level. Nobody cared about Kinlaw until senior bowl PRACTICES lol. But you have clueless dudes coming on here acting like they know what they're talking about when comparing the two. Id take a guy who dominated in the national championship games than all star practice.

That's true I forgot about that. He also had some sort of issue with his knees I think.

Barmore is just as good a prospect as both of those guys, because he's a better pass rusher.

Brown, specifically, wasn't worth that pick at the time, and won't be worth it next year either. Kinlaw was all an upside pick, he had the same inconsistencies as Barmore.

I just want to get him. My preferred method is with a trade down or, better yet, with him somehow making it to 44, but if it's takes 10, I'm not going to be upset about it.

Of course, I don't generally get upset with who we draft (even though I have my preferences) because you never really know how they are going to work out. Players are taken where the draft "experts" say they should be and bust and players are taken ahead of where the draft "experts" should be and succeed.

One that has always stuck with me is Patrick Watkins. Can't remember where the experts had him rated, but I remember some fans wanting to take him as early as the second round. We got him in the fifth and I believe he was the only pick some fans liked that year, thinking that we got a major steal. He turned out to be nothing more than a special teammer.

That was my thoughts as well. What will make Barmore possibly go higher than he's rated by many is his elite pass rush ability. Scouts understand the importance of that at his position seemingly far better than draft evaluators. But I guess we'll see. I think he easily goes top 20 and would not be surprised if it's earlier than that.

I mean, yeah a trade down wpuld be ideal but his comp is Chris Jones and Cowboy fans are turning up their nose. Its hilarious to me. Believing in ole Trysten Hill lol
