does surtain and horn come from good teams with good defenses?
if so they may easily not be all that good in the nfl.
Mo Claiborne came from a good lsu defense, and then in nfl he was ordinary.
I think that could easily happen with these guys.

I havent watched them so dont know, but I would go for the OL or LB , or trade back.

He was talking earlier on The Fan today. This may be just conjecture on his part, so take it for what it’s worth, but he says that he thinks the Cowboys “final four” that they may realistically have a chance of drafting would be listed in this order:

1. Sewell
2. Slater
3. Surtain
4. Horn

He suggests that if any of these guys are there (or all of them for that matter) that if we pick at #10 that we would take one of them IN THAT ORDER.

He suggested that the Cowboys believe that Pitts will be long gone before the Cowboys pick.

Seems fair. This year really reminds me of 2014 when the team went into the draft with a pretty good "final four "of Anthony Barr (9th), Aaron Donald (13th), Ryan Shazier (15th), and their 4th choice Zack Martin. That's also the draft where Jerry threw a hissy fit and wanted the team to throw away their board and draft Johnny Manziel.

My only hope is that list this year is actually:

1. Sewell
2. Surtain
3. Slater (not thrilled with him at 10)
4. Horn (only if we can't trade down)

I'd add a Group B if trade down comes into play
1. Horn
2. JOK
3. Trevon Moehrig
4. Zaven Collins

I’ve seen some say he might not even be the 2nd OL off the board.

I’m not a deep dive mock guy but just seeing 5-6 mocks that have him going top 6, latest top 8. I’m just guessing on that.

I think both of there dads were corners too, so that may help, I dont know.

They don't expect the LB (Parsons?) to be there, or they're not interested?

Surprising that Slater is higher than Surtain and Horn. Picking for positional value over need.

I think that even if they aren’t evaluated correctly (which I don’t think you can go wrong with the 2 I mentioned) the LB position makes a quicker impact to the defense.I think secondary is very important we need about 2 starters but 1 LB is just as important of course I’d also love a 1 tech. So many needs

If they take Sewell or Slater before Surtain, they're absolutely the dumbest Front office in the league. You have no starter opposite of Diggs right now. If you pass on Surtain, you probably won't get Joe Horn either. Now you're hoping and praying you can get a corner to start, while the lineman you picked up sits on the bench.

I think this is probably every fans list as well, with the addition of Pitts. But you did put that in there he may be gone. But some will still have him there to select.
However fans will have them in different order, which is ok.

Good question, Horn came from a horrible SC team but you also have to look how Surtain played against premier teams like Ohio State, LSU, and Clemson......not sure but good question...may be like MO Claiborne...a shut down corner in the College but ordinary in the NFL.

The only way I draft OL is if Sewell is there.......taking Slater or other OL could signal that T. Smith or Collins may not be as healthy as the Front Office is telling the fans.

Not sure I completely agree with this take. We don’t know what the make up of the starting 5 will be in the secondary or on the line. One could make the argument that Anthony Brown would be your starter across from diggs especially with new staff coming in

if a chance at Sewell is there you got to take him. He probably unseats someone on line day 1. Slater I’m not sure about but I don’t think there’s a large gap between the 2.

that’s said I’m in the LB camp with first pick or a trade down but if it ends up being CB I won’t be upset. They are all huge needs along with 1 tech.

I just don’t believe horn and Surtain are these can’t miss prospects and are head and shoulders above cbs like melonfeu ? Or equivalent

but I guess you can make same argument with LB
