Spencer Brown - RAS is 10 out of 10

Brown of Northern Iowa has some really good numbers. Nobody really talking about him much. I think he might be a decent investment pick. He's a guy that probably ends up being a RT in the NFL but he needs a lot of technique work. But at 6-8 315, with his agility numbers, his difficulty with the edge rush is more a coaching issue, I would guess. He's really interesting. If we miss out on one of the tackles early, I would definitely be looking at this kid as a later option.

I like him alot. Struggle with where I would draft him. 44 might be rich, but even though most places have him as a 3rd/4th, I think he goes higher. Could easily be a second rounder. Excellent measurables and football character are a great combination for a prospect. I do think he has LT ability as well

He is a 3rd round target for me. Id even take him in the 2nd if we traded down from 44

C'mon, Larry Allen was a 1st rd prospect, that dropped due to a shoulder injury. There are plenty other Tackles in this class that will be drafter ahead of him as he is more of a developmental player at this juncture.

I never, ever saw Allan rated as a first round pick. But whatever, your story, you tell it. Doesn't change the reality of the statement. Lots of Cowboy Fans didn't like the pick when it happened because they didn't think he was worth the 2nd round pick. That's a fact.

Broaddus says a lot of things. Unfortunately, most of what he said wasn't worthy of keeping him around with the organization. The rotator cuff injury was a real thing but that wasn't the only thing that pushed him down. He played at Sonoma State and against no NFL competition level players, that was more of an issue then the shoulder injury. I mean, teams weren't concerned with his strength, they already knew he was strong as an ox. But having said that, if the team thinks he's capable of being a starter, then a second isn't too much to spend, even if he has to sit. I mean, most young OLs aren't day one starters anyway. Most sit and learn and get stronger. That's how it works in the NFL so it doesn't really concern me at all, TBH.

Might not be 44. If you traded down in the first, it could be a lower or higher 2nd round pick. But bottom line, if they like him, take him if you get the shot.

I'm curious when he'll go. Doug Free also was considered something of an athletic freak coming out of Northern Illinois, so I wonder if we'd be able to get Brown in the fourth like we did Free. Would be an excellent pickup then IMO.

I wrote a piece on Brady Christensen earlier. He's too is really interesting. I like him later in the draft as well.

Yeah, he would be another target for me after the first three rounds.

Honestly, I've heard things all over the board on this kid. I have no idea where he might go.

I'm all for him, even with his height maybe being a negative.

I've read that some think he could be either LT or RT in the pros, due to his athletic ability and he definitely was a power 5 player but stayed at UNI for loyalty.

Seems like the ideal tackle prospect to draft and develop while we have two starters and a 3rd swing tackle he can compete against.

Now this makes sense. Take him a bit later as he needs some coaching and let him learn behind Tyron exclusively. Use the veteran behind Collins (I forget who we signed).

Yeah, 2nd is wayyy too high.

I’m like CalPoly and think spending a late pick on him would be fine... but 2nd or even 3rd? I don’t think so, although I could be off on him.

He definitely has the athleticism and length to succeed but I would worry, at least early on, about him simply getting bull rushed right back in the QB’s lap. And, I don’t know if he could get movement enough in the run game.

Still a good prospect but will require patience, IMO.

I’m not sure without looking it up. It seems like Columbo was a little bigger (heavier) and not quite as agile.

Looked at Colombo's wiki...he was 6'8" and 320.

Right in the same size range...not comparing him to Colombo as a prospect....Colombo was a first round pick. And I think Colombo lost a lot of his mobility his first few years in the league with all kinds of injuries. When he got picked up by the Cowboys he was a total reclamation project.

But he looks to be a fighter and for a tall guy seems pretty athletic. Not sure on the round....definitely not a first or second and I don't think he would be a great guard candidate...not too many guards that size heightwise....easier for DL to get under his pads on the inside.
