Brown of Northern Iowa has some really good numbers. Nobody really talking about him much. I think he might be a decent investment pick. He's a guy that probably ends up being a RT in the NFL but he needs a lot of technique work. But at 6-8 315, with his agility numbers, his difficulty with the edge rush is more a coaching issue, I would guess. He's really interesting. If we miss out on one of the tackles early, I would definitely be looking at this kid as a later option.

I don’t like the super tall OT’s. Way more fail than succeed

Is he mean and nasty like Larry Allen or soft like our current overrated OL? That is all I care about

Heard Pauline say recently, he is a fast rising prospect, could even be a 2nd rd pick, that's way too rich for me.

Yeah, 2nd is wayyy too high.

I’m like CalPoly and think spending a late pick on him would be fine... but 2nd or even 3rd? I don’t think so, although I could be off on him.

He definitely has the athleticism and length to succeed but I would worry, at least early on, about him simply getting bull rushed right back in the QB’s lap. And, I don’t know if he could get movement enough in the run game.

Still a good prospect but will require patience, IMO.

Think the sweet spot might be in rd 3 to address the need of a future tackle.

He’s interesting for sure, but he’s going to need development and there are a handful of other guys I’d put him in about the same tier as.

Brown , UNI
Little, Stanford
Christensen, BYU
D’Ante Smith, ECU
Hudson, Cinci

I have no problem waiting whoever gets drafted past out of that group. I think they all have the ceiling of a starter

Not for me. from what I have heard, he is the real deal physically and he will likely play at somewhere around 340/350 in the league. His agility is ridiculous, for a man his size. If you watch the film at the Senior bowl, you will notice the edge rusher he is going against in practice from Ohio State, wearing number 0. That's actually Jonathon Cooper. Watch how easily he controls him, like nothing.

If we miss on one of the top OLs and we are looking at a Defensive player at 10, I'd probably think about trading down and maybe taking a Horn and then taking this kid in the 2nd or 3rd. If Horn or Surtain are not there, I would be just as happy with a Basham or a Platte and then just looking at one of the many, many CBs available in this draft that we can get lower. This draft is the deepest CB Draft I can ever remember in all my years. I actually hate the idea of drafting a CB at 10 overall, unless it's Horn and that's only because he is an exceptional athlete, better then Surtain. Honestly, I'd rather go get a CB later in the draft. I would absolutely look at Brown in the second or later. He has upside like an Ogden or a Smith but he is so raw. He needs time and with a Smith who is in decline but is still able to give us a very high performance when healthy, it's almost a perfect development situation. Besides, who knows what Collins is going to end up doing? I would not be afraid to take this kid.

3rd rd yes, not in rd 2 for a developmental Tackle.

I wrote a piece on Brady Christensen earlier. He's too is really interesting. I like him later in the draft as well.

His athleticism works for him well because you can't teach that. But you but that together with technique and some NFL strength training and you have a guy who could end up being your starter at RT or even LT. He has that kind of quicks and agility. His problem is when he allows players to get in to his body too much. You teach him better hand placement and more technique on how to get his initial punch in and he's going to get much, much better at controlling his opposition. If he gets his hands on you, you are done. I really like that about this kid. I think there is something there if he gets with the right coaching staff.

He will definitely improve a lot with pro coaching. He’s got a lot of upside, for sure.

He does. His foot work is all natural ability right now. You teach him how to kick step and slide and all of that improves tremendously. There is so much to work with there Asthma, but he's not a fiished product so you have to project and that introduces a little bit of risk. But if you could get your starting RT in the 2nd or better yet, your future starting LT in the second, how valuable is that guy? To me, if you see the ability to be a starter in a player, then any round is worth it.

That's just me.

Funny.... Same thing I heard from fans about Larry Allen when he got drafted.
C'mon, Larry Allen was a 1st rd prospect, that dropped due to a shoulder injury. There are plenty other Tackles in this class that will be drafter ahead of him as he is more of a developmental player at this juncture.
