Didn't Jerry do the introduction speech when Troy was inducted into the HoF?

No wait, it was Norv Turner, wow.

I feel really bad for a qb that elite everything around him while they won 3 sbs. Hard to believe. Love aikman but let's be real.

yeah thats what I got out of it, he didnt want to play for a losing team, and he knew they would continue to be losers.

And look who was right.....Troy knew when to cut bait. And now we got 20+ years of Jerry gaffs to prove he was right. @ some point you would think Jerry would realize....by him sticking around...and mucking things up...all he is doing is tarnishing his legacy....and this franchise. But no....in the end...it will be Jerry's ego that will kill this franchise.

Troy has said multiple reasons he has retired - not long ago he said the reason he retired was due to a back injury or something, and I believe that was in relation to Romo's back problems.

It's probably a combination of both. The one he most likely won't admit to is that he just wasn't that good at football anymore, and frankly, he wasn't all that great after the 95 season.

It's no secret that Troy wasn't anything akin to being fond of Barry Switzer. He stated many times that he got tired of being the bad guy who had to get the players in line rather than the HC doing it. Now, we're hearing that "decisions were being made beyond his control." I think the hiring of Barry Switzer was certainly one of those decisions. It was likely also convenient for Jerry to claim Troy's back problems were to blame for his exit. Whatever the case was, Troy made the right decision. He's still revered as one of the best QBs the Cowboys ever had. It seems his retirement was well timed.

Aikman was a winner and was one of the leaders of an all time great team. Jerry is an old drunk that cavorts with 20 somethings, fires HOF coaches on benders, and plays GM while producing one of the worst records over the past couple decades. He hasn’t won a thing without Aikman and really has destroyed one of the great sports franchises in the world.

I think Aikman saw the future and he was right.

Yep, in his farewell speech he talked about how he couldn't perform at the level he wanted to. He is all over the board on this.

He got a concussion from his kids little league football game two years after he retired. His head couldn’t handle it anymore. The LaVar Arrington hit shouldn’t have done anything to him but it knocked him out.

Him and Steve Young could barely make it through a game at the end of their careers.
