The Phins want Jaelan Phillips.
They realize that Giants (#11), Vikings (#14), and Patriots (#16) are all eyeing Phillips.
Meanwhile Dallas at #10, eyes a freakin' CB that is passive non-impactful island-player that plays 25 yards from the line of scrimmage.
I believe its a fair bet worth taking that the phones are actually ringing for our first this year, bet they were when we had the fourth overall as well,, I was really surprised when we took Zeke at 4, I thought for sure in that draft that they would have moved back, so we will see who is really running the show now. It's up to the best judgments of those like Will McClay and Dan Quinn to decide.
For goodness sakes, don't listen to Jerry & Son! Rely upon the "Football Guys!"
depends. if Pitts is there (which I doubt), I would say no...just grab him (yes, I am a bit infatuated with him). however, I think this is a deep DB class devoid of super stars, thus you can grab one lower in the round. perhaps the extra second round pick can fetch a DT or a saftey or a LB.....or possibly used to trade up to grab a Jarmin Davis at the bottom of the first.....2021 NFL Draft Rumors: Dolphins looking to trade up for second top-ten pick?

The Miami Dolphins have already been busy in the 2021 NFL Draft, trading out of the third position, back to the 12th spot, then back up to the sixth-overall pick. Rumors over the past few days have the Dolphins considering another trade, with the common though that Miami could trade back to add additional picks either this year or in 2022. Now, however, there is some speculation that Miami could be looking to trade up, but not from the sixth spot, but rather from their second first-round pick, the 18th-overall selection.

Dolphins currently own the (1st round) 6th, 18th and (2nd round) 50th overall picks (in RED) within the first 2 rounds.
The Cowboys own the (1st round) 10th and (2nd round) 44th overall picks (in GREEN) within the first 2 rounds.
If the Cowboys and Dolphins agreed to make a trade:
Dolphins move up from the 18th pick and get the Cowboys 10th overall pick, the Cowboys would move down 8 spots and get the Dolphins 18th overall pick while also getting the Dolphins 50th overall pick. Those 2 picks (18th & 50th) would equal the trade value (700 points difference) to trade away the 10th overall pick to the Dolphins. That would move the Cowboys down 8 spots in the 1st round, but it would also give the Cowboys another mid-2nd round pick, thus giving them 2 picks in every round (2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds) while still having a pick in the teens in the 1st round (Cowboys have snatched up great players in the teens spot in the 1st round in the past).
Would you rather stay put and only have 1 pick to use in each first 2 rounds, or would you make the trade down while still getting a 1st round pick in the teens while grabbing an extra mid-2nd round pick, thus securing 2 picks in each round (2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds)?
Lots of holes to fill on this team, especially Defense.
What say you? Should the Cowboys trade down a few picks in the 1st round while gaining an extra mid-2nd round pick or stay pat?

So 2016 isnt that far removed, that was holding the 4 and taking Zeke, and most of Cowboy Country was happier than a hillbilly standing in a field of dreams.
So here we stand in 2021 with the same amount of gun powder basically.. 10 vs 4 is about a close a comparison to a draft that worthy of this comparison in draft stock/leverage.. doesnt matter what you call it, the value is what has to be recognized.
What Im saying is this draft, that 10 slot has a lot of value, as much as the 4 when we drafted Zeke.
Stephen,, please be the good son and hide the JW Blue before Thursday, and try and convince pops to go lay down and take a nap while we get through what happens on day one.

I'd rather get 18 and 36 for 10. They'll do it if they fall in love with a player. That would give us 3 picks in the top 44. Possibly 3 defensive starters. To good to happen....lolWhat about Dallas 10, 44 for Miami's 18, 36 and 50?
His health/medical status is clean.Lol just read this after posting.
If Phillips has no long term issues then I don’t know what we are doing drafting a freaking corner.

Stay Pat unless a potential starter is part of the trade. We need players at numerous positions. Either a player or another high pick for a starter only. You have to admire teams that go ahead and target a player and move to get them. We could do that but we get slowed down drafting reclamation projects and trying to make them succeed. Got to stop that.2021 NFL Draft Rumors: Dolphins looking to trade up for second top-ten pick?

His health/medical status is clean.
Negative/sloppy media reports have perpetrated the negative portrayal of his medical history.
Very similar to the Warren Sapp fall in the 1995 draft -- sensational stories drive a narrative that surround a draftee.
When in fact, no such narrative exists -- and a quality player falls in the draft.
Smart GM's avoid the clutter of misinformation, and fear.
"He's a freak," NFL Network draft expert Daniel Jeremiah...."He's one of the 10 best football players in this draft."

The Giants, Vikings, Patriots, and Phins are ready to pounce on this guy right after the #10 selection.
I agree with you, Dallas likewise should pull the trigger on this player rather than on an over-glorified non-impactful position like CB.

If I’m going down 8 spots in rd 1 I’m losing out in most players with a rd 1 grade
if they’re coming up 8 spots it is for a premium player
therefore I’ll want a rd 2 and rd 3 pick in addition to 18. They have a lot of picks
but yes, I’d love to do it
Though a 2nd and 3rd would be nice, but I would want more (greedy, LOL), though the draft chart points say a 2nd.
8 spots is a big drop, unless players drop, like the CB's. If we can get Horn at 18, get a 2nd and 3rd and some 2022 pick, like a 2nd. Of course a 2022 1st would get it done.
I’m perfectly happy taking Moehrig at 18 and then take
2a: Nixon/Levi O
2b: Stokes/Campbell/Meli
3a: McNeill
3b: Adebo
3c: OL
4a: Werner
4b: Browning
that’s the basis for a really strong defense by the end of this year
