Agree 100%. Its like saying Tom Brady should have been now picked 1st overall. Well in hindsight if hes a 7th rounder, and you reallyy want him, you dont pick him 1st overall, you can grab him in the 6th round. We basically reach for a lot whether those players work out or not, they could have been had at later rounds.

Yep, the example I used was the Giants picking QB Jones so high. They got scared thinking some other team was eyeing him. He would have been there late in the first. In the mean time they pass on DE Allen. Can you imagine Allen added to that Giants front? I'm glad they messed that up.

Atlanta calls and says Dallas we will give you Kyle Pitts for your entire day 1 and 2 draft picks.

Would you make that trade?

First off, regardless of players chosen, Atlanta was never trading their 4th pick in the draft for the Cowboys’ 1st, 2nd, and three 3rds.

Now, in hindsight, no way right now would Atlanta trade Pitts for Parsons, Joseph, Odig, Golston, and Wright.

After 1, 2, 3 years we will find out if Pitts is worth more than these 5 players. Football chats are good because there is so much to guess and talk about.

I know Atlanta wouldn’t do it lol..

But I took that factor out of it and giving a scenario to Cowboys fans.

2009 was the special teams draft. This is the solid player draft.

I like the first two and the wrestler kid. He had a ton of TFL on a bad UCLA team.

Hes a very, very intriguing pick. I'm excited to see how it translates.

Yep..

We could’ve taken that Chicago deal and moved back up for Phillips or Davis.

We could have traded one of those 3rd round picks to move back up and take Parsons if we really wanted to and still had an extra first round pick next year. But that would require one of the Jones's to actually get on the phone and make an effort.

It is a thought-provoking scenario. Discussions like this make this site better than listening to the talking heads on tv. Always appreciate you posts. You are not afraid to take a stand.

I am on the fence as to which is better right now: Pitts or the Cowboys’ first 5 picks. I am a big fan of Pitts but I’ll go with 5 smaller eggs in one basket vs one big egg in one basket.

And Atlanta is in worse shape concerning defense than the Cowboys are.

Nope.. There is no bigger fan of Kyle Pitts on this board than I.. but Parsons matches his freakish athleticism on the defensive side of the ball and the other guys represent more opportunities to improve the defense which you would need to do even if you had drafted Pitts.

where was tom brady, tony romo, and Kurt warner on all these boards? many players with the mock so called experts have slipped through the cracks,,they arent the NFL Bible

thats why there are over 100 mock boards from so many sources, its away for fans to follow the draft but in no way does it matter to scouting departments and Gms add in professional coaches..ill trust our coaches and scouts until they all fail
Until they fail?

Parsons will be better than Pitts.

I hope but it’s all projection with Parsons and he doesn’t play a position of huge impact.

Not a lot of linebackers make huge impacts and the guys who do have a ton of skill from the jump.

Parsons outside of running sideways and coming down hill is just a projection based on his athleticism.

I’m on fence on 1 and 2. Could be complete studs. Round 3 I’d trade. Reaches

Going off Dane Bruglers Big Board:

Osa O: 75 pick / 121 on Big Board

Golston 84 pick / 123 Big Board

Wright 99 pick / 278 Big Board

man i watch buglar and friends a lot too i am right with you...i was so angry last night

I understand that but you are talking rare circumstances. There isn’t a Brady every year. I trust his work, is all, and many other boards had similar ranks but let’s let Jerry and them slide again for reaching in rounds where you should be finding solid contributions, not ST guys. Hope they work out but there is no denying they were reaches. If I eat crow so be it but this is our MO with the FO thinking they are the smartest guys in the room.

I’m pretty positive here but I’m not going to sit snd clap like a circus seal at every move they make or every cost cutting strategy they have.

I’d take Parsons and Joseph over Pitts in two seconds. Those were good picks. The third round is where the wheels fell off but tbf this draft just isn’t very deep. Most the picks in the entire third round were guys I’d never heard of.
