News: NFL gives the Cowboys an A- grade for Day 2

Analysis: The Cowboys didn’t get a cornerback in the first round, so selecting Joseph to fill that need in Round 2 was a sound decision. The former LSU recruit has the talent to be special. Odighizuwa can play inside or outside for the Cowboys, using his length and active playing style. Golston is the young power defensive end Dallas needed to add in this draft. Wright was a reach in the top 100, in my opinion, but he has potential as an outside corner with the height to battle big NFL receivers.

I thought the Cowboys did fine. They rolled the dice a bit on Joseph, but he is immensely talented and played at a high level in the SEC.

Both the DL fit the profile, play extremely hard, and are good run defenders. Good players.

Wright has good traits and was essentially a 4th round pick (absent the comp picks). I'm inclined to trust them on this. We shall see.

None of the other 3 picks were "reaches." Solid picks.

Look, last year the Boys were getting high 5's for drafting Anea and Robinson. Well for a last place defense, these guys could not get on the field, maybe it was scheme issue. But I am extremely excited about the Wright pick, Boys went out of the box on this pick. We will find out game 1.

They absolutely filled positions of need which is what elevates that grade, but there were many players that graded far better. Happy with round 2 pick, but the entire round 3 was a reach. I could understand 1 pick but they did it on all 3.

theSkaven--- i am so ticked off at the picks after Joseph in 2nd round...you could have got these guys in 5-7th round...and cowboys use premium picks....get the coaches ouf of those rooms and only allow scouts if this is going to happen

I also wrote on another thread that if he does not make the game 1 active roster, Boy's, especially, Jerry are going to get a lot of heat for this pick. But if he is a true find, watch out, the scouts/coaches have turned the corner. Again, we will see game 1.

mr Five--the tape on him he looks so stiff and he is weak only 6 on bench...his Int's were bad passes thrown by college QB's....it was not him making great play...buglar had wright like 238 as a 7th rounder or free agent.....why did we use premium picks on dudes we could have picked in 6 or 7 rd?...i think addition of Smith who by the way had one of the worst defenses in Atlanta is messing up our draft pick room?...just my opinion....i have been struggling with some anger lately so maybe i am going over the top?....
