Yea but if the kid is putting on 20 pounds he’s probably losing the quickness that makes him good.

He’s best suited to be a base DE that kicks inside to rush in the nickel IMO. Hope that’s what Dallas is thinking.
I don't think he will put on 20 maybe 5 or 10 max. Ive seen different listening for him. 280 and 285. I think he can play 290 without losing quickness. Thats not big, but its not too undersized for a 3T

Just posted something similar in another thread but we already have a good up and coming 3T in Gallimore. I hope we're not dumb enough to draft a 3T when we literally just drafted a better 3T prospect the year prior.

You do really need two good 3T's. Most passing formations you play both DT's in a 3 gap. Thats our best formation with Lawrence because it lets Lawrence rush from a wider gap with is more his strength than from a 6 gap

You’re describing a backup nickel rusher.

I agree, we do need that but you don’t take that in the top 80ish.

So if that’s the plan terrible pick. If the plan is DE/DT mix where he gets a ton of snaps good pick.

Nickle rusher is still on the field 70% of the time. The rest of the time you are using a more tradional 1T. If you want to call that guy a back, then your back up is more important than one of your starters

If we don’t have a DT on the field that can anchor and impact the run 70% of the time that’s a recipe for disaster for a team that’s biggest weakness is run defense.

Maybe it’s just a difference or opinion, but in the 3rd round I want someone I think can turn into a starter. Again if he plays across the line I’m good if the intent is 3T online I’m not good.

I don't get the comparison to Jay Ratliff. Ratliff was listed at 306, odighiwuza is listed at 282 right?the cowboys did need depth at de , so I'm not that upset about this pick

Nickel DT pass rusher is a starting position.

First pick I'm not happy about...not a fan of tweener prospects. My guess is Quinn sees this as a Michael Bennett type? Strong side DE that can kick inside.
Stout, good against the run, athletic ability to rush the passer, outstanding wrestling background, good character. What's not to like?

Gallimore is not as good of a prospect.

Osa is a passrushing 3t and was, except for maybe Barmore, the best at it in this class.

Galley is 10 times better as a prospect.

Why do you think he's not?

There is a good article on NFL.com regarding him his brothers growing up and his older brother mental issues who played in the league but for only 28 months. Depression is not joke.

Agree to disagree. Think Gally was almost a full round better of a prospect if you’re looking at them as 3Ts.
