Looks like the safety bit on the flea flicker and Wright almost made the play. Because everyone wants him to suck, I want him to succeed.

I want him to succeed as well but it looks like he whiffed with a weak jam at the LOS, got too high in his stance, and simply couldn't make up the ground on a decent 4.4 forty receiver until the receiver slowed to track the ball. At the end of the day if Wright is to make it in the NFL, it's not gonna be off the back of his make up speed, he's gonna need to get lower in his stance and improve his speed on release while having wicked hand use at the LOS. Just by nature of his build, that hand use is gonna have to be his bread and butter but it can and will get better with NFL coaching. It's just gonna take time, we probably won't see the best of him until year two or three.

Let the Boys' front office explain to the public what they see in Wright. Those guys do not get drunk for one pick.

A highlight for Simi and a lowlight for Nahshon.
Can't tell if SK is that fast or Wright had cement in his shoes.

Nice. lol

That ain't third round corner speed folks.

Cant teach people how to run faster.

Granted it was one play. I suppose he is a blazer otherwise lol.

He knew he had safety help over the top and he was purposely trailing him.. He almost broke it up too.

100% the safeties fault.. Can’t let the guy cross your face like that.

Not in the way he reached for him after Fehoko ran by. He was in “trail position” by default.

The ball also hung up just a bit which caused Fehoko to slow up to make the catch and allowed Wright to get back into the play.

It's on the safety. 100%.

Wright gave him an inside release and everything. Safety can't let him run by like that.

Nope.

He missed the jam at the LOS and you can see that when Fehoko took the inside and Wright reached. Those are not the movements of a free inside release. You’re trying to make it sound as if Wright gave him a free release.

To say it's 100% on the safety is oversimplified.

Don’t see any makeup speed. He needs to be a FS or he’ll get toasted at CB.

He'll be sitting in a deep zone 80% of the time I imagine.

The job for a cover 3 zone corner is just to play off and let a safety or linebacker take care of anything underneath.
