If we had drafted DeMarcus some would have a totally different attitude but why? Micah is 4 pounds lighter, one inch shorter, but much faster than DeMarcus 4.6 versus 4.39 at their Pro Days. Micah played at Penn State versus Troy. He can add some strength, get coached up, and learn the trade and could be the best player on this team in two years and maybe the most productive player drafted in 2021 period. Not drinking the Kool Aid just looking at the player as he is going to be used. Not a base 4/3 LB which is arguably antiquated in 2021. LB's make 3/4's DL's make a 4/3's. The draft and talent clearly tell us where we are going. We drafted the most impactful player unless one of the QB's end up Aikman or Elway.
This draft was like Parcell's DeMarcus draft, traits versus talent to fit a 3/4 system. The base 3/4 I forecast Parson and Lawrence will be on the outside, the two best of the other four LB's inside, Brent Urban and Neville Gallimore/Trysten Hill (don't be surprised it's not the Tony Tolbert clone Golston) at the 5's, and Antwan Woods at the NT. The secondary will work itself out based on the Quinn view. This will be a much better defense next year and a totally different one to prepare for than the chaos we had last year or the plain vanilla the previous years.
