So now with the draft an FA signings wrapping up.

I want some info..

Based on Dak recovering.. How is Moore going to adjust the playcalling to account for needing to protecting him better.?

This has to be foremost about the play going forward. We cannot lose Dak again. Protecting him means everything.

But how?

Football is a very tough and violent sport, and unfortunately injury plays a part in it every season. Coaches have one job, you coach to the players strength putting him in the best position for success. You cannot do this with fear in the equation.

The only thing that can be done to keep Dak safer is for him to make safer decisions when he's on the run. Get what you can and go down, but that being said his injury was not one that came from him fighting for extra yards.

Don't be afraid, play hard play smart and let the chips fall where they may. Go Cowboys:flagwave:

Fewer empty backfields?
Getting rid of the ball faster?
Snipers?

But how?

1) Going to keep 9 players in to block. Max protect.
2) Run the ball 69% of the time.
3) Only allow players with long arms in the huddle.
4) Allow Dak to go fetal at the slightest pressure like Eli.

He got hurt on a scramble not a called run, it's up to Dak to protect himself.

Moore had to adjust the plays called for Dalton because the starting tackles were out. But assuming everyone is healthy he will not need to adjust the plays called. Dak wasn't hurt due to poor tackle play like Dalton was. Dak ran and when you run there is a chance that an injury can occur. And Dak said it best he needs to be a bit more careful but he still needs to run when appropriate.

For the last time. Dak was hurt on a scramble. The Cowboys literally don't need to do anything special to protect him.

Dak is more durable than most quarterbacks. This shouldn't even be a concern. He didn't get injured as a result of poor protection.

only thing Dak needs to do is Slide

no more trying to truck a defender or stiff arm just slide and that wouldve had to happen even without the injury

playcalling shouldnt change and if it does toss that quick flanker screen in the trash and no more jet sweeps

Not sure how you can say he's more durable than most after being out for almost a full season. Also, people were saying his poor play in games the year prior was due to an injured shoulder. I haven't done the research, but I'd guess most QBs have had better health than that.

It wasn't due to lack of protection is what I am saying. He did it to himself. He takes plenty of hits and gets right back up. I'm never worried about him getting injured in the pocket.

As far as playing poorly due to an injured shoulder. That sounds like an excuse similar to the one they made for Wentz. Did he look better when he healed up? Did Dak lose any playing time? That's what matters, not mythical injuries.

I know what you were saying, and I should have clarified that I was only speaking in terms of general durability, not likelihood of being injured in the pocket. I agree with you that he's held up well against hits in the pocket, so far. Then again, if that shoulder was genuinely injured, it may have happened in the pocket. Regardless, giving him better protection is always a good idea, if only to give him more time.

Dak is not going to change his game and the Cowboys are not going to take RPOs out of the offense.

Dak is just going to slide or go done instead of stiff arming tacklers trying to stay upright unless the game is on the line. The Big Blue M&M and Dak said if the situation is to win the game, nothing changes. But stay on the field to get in the situation to win.

There's going to be no change. Dak has healed and he's at no more risk of being injured now than he was before it happened.

There's no need to change Dak's playstyle because of a freak injury that could happen to any player at any position. He might be a little tentative to take off and run at first, but once his instincts take over and he takes some hits, he'll be completely over it.

You think the Dak injury was from lack of protection? It was a designed run and a freak accident
