Any of you guys remember when the TV day used to sign off?

I remember the opposite side...turning on the TV, waiting for the tube to warm up, seeing the dot of light expand into a test pattern and, impatiently awaiting the start of cartoons.
Us kids created our own rule. Whom ever turned on the TV for Saturday cartoons could control what toons we watched all day. Unless that person went to sleep. I was always the first person up.

I remember the cigarette ads. Those have been gone a long time. I think they nixxed them in about '72. Recently, I found an old Cowboys game on Youtube that still had the ads in. A cigarette ad came on and I was like, whoah!

I do find the prescription drug ads annoying. They go on and on about how great their drug is, then all of a sudden, they're like, "May cause asthma, epileptic spazzes or death." I'm like, WTH, I thought you said it was so great.
LOL!! SNL did a parody of that very thing with this parody advert:

Wow, I didn't even realize that was her!

I can look at her without feeling like scumbag. It's a weird process as an aging man to realize you can't look at younger women the same way. It sucks frankly. I think you said you were in your 50s so you can relate.
As long as she's 18 or older, I'm okay with myself. That probably comes from 2 things: 1) I've never had kids of my own, and 2) Spending time at Hooters.
