I agree, but I think the OP is looking at Jaylon’s contract as the team’s commitment to him, when the contract came before Jaylon’s decline and LVE has not been offered a new contract. I am sure that Jaylon’s contract is considered a mistake at this point. They didn’t repeat the same mistake with LVE, but he might get a reasonable contract if he can return to playing at the level that he was playing at during his rookie season and stay healthy.Man, LVE still has this coming season to prove that he’s worth a new contract in Dallas. The team even said they want him to be there for 5 more years. It’s all up to him.
Smith also has a chance to turn things around. He just has to play better.
They both can bet on themselves.
