My mother had an unforgiven cooking rule........never ever leave dirty dishes overnight. Now notice I said my mother, NOT my wife (LOL).

I put my headphones on and crank up some Japanese all girl Metal BandMaid and pretend they are there washing them with me.

the bad part is you didn't notice this around 8ish and not at bed time? That's a solid 20 minute job right there and it's come this far. It can wait until morning. lol

I assume we had a romantic dinner with a little too much wine, became overcome with passion, raked the dishes into the sink and made mad love on the dining room table. I trust her to clean it up tomorrow and if she's a little hungover, will give her until noon to get it cleaned up so I can begin prepping my food for the grill and/or smoker.

There might just be a repeat performance of the previous evening because I am such a patient and understanding husband. Not to mention having more moves on a dining room table than a cat at Thanksgiving.

I don't even let it get that far. I wash what I can as I'm cooking, then wash the rest as soon as I'm done eating. Actually had one girl get mad at me because I would let dishes sit until the movie was over.
You let her watch the movie instead of doing the dishes. I wouldn't want her making the popcorn in a messy kitchen.

I’m lucky. My wife’s Japanese. I bring home the bacon and she cooks cleans. She won’t have it any other way no matter how hard I try.

A: Roll up my sleeves and wash.

The image does grind my gears in one way: food put in the sink. That annoys the bleepity-bleep out of me.

My folks taught their children to never leave food or drink on a plate or in a glass. "Eat everything or scrap what is left into the trash. Drink everything or pour it down the drain. Put leftovers in the refrigerator." Those were the rules. Exceptions were not optional.

People do not like me coming to their place and seeing a messy sink.

Exactly right. Any dishes in my sink are totally scraped of all food residue and completely rinsed and ready for either a hand wash in the sink or to load in the dishwasher.

Some women get downright hostile if you try to help clean...because they have a specific way of doing it and if your way differs, you are a terrible human being and must not be allowed to help.

Exactly. That and she feels it’s her duty. I Americanized her in some ways but others, not a chance.
