I think the combo of Darwin, Schultz and Sprinkle should combine to make a pretty solid TE corps.

I'm also wondering what Artayvious Lynn has to offer. He was a good blocker for TCU at 6'6", 260.

I am ok with the TE position this year. With Jarwin back, it will be better. It is not elite, but they do not need to be. They are above average, may turn into well above average.
With Schultz though being a FA after this year, they will probably address it next year in the draft. But that is a long way off.
Would I like another Jason Witten in his prime, or a Kelce, Ertz, Gonzales in his prime, same for Gronk. Heck yeah, who wouldn't. However I am glad they did not waste a draft pick on a TE this year.
Let's see what we have and go from there.

I was real down on Schultz. Thought he was a bust. Boy was I wrong. He was a revelation last season. We are solid here.

Schultz wasn't really given the chance to emerge and show what he can be at best.
Really Didn't help matters that the Witten/Garrett fiasco utterly slowed any chance of progress he could make.

- By being so limited, so less reps and seemingly phased out by having other guys in front of him, i believe his self-confidence really deemed to a new low.
including shaky drop passes hands.

- With a new HC that finally sent Witten on a his way in a different direction, and Jarwin unfortunate ACL injury
that gave Schultz his big chance to show what he can do.

- Where would Schultz be right now if Witten and Garrett where still here ?
He’s great injury insurance for Jarwin who not only will we see if he’s anything close to his previous playing form, but there’s already been instances where he’s either missed time
or very limited by injury.

- I found it ironic that vet Blake Bell a blocking TE, signed for 1 year and returned right back to where he departed in FA, ..to KC Chiefs.
But we’ve found another blocking role TE to compete with McKeon.

- However I do believe we won’t re-sign Schultz when he becomes a FA, because i expect some NFL team to overpay for his services based off 2020 performance.
And why would we be investing & committing more money in two TEs ?

I see us keeping four TEs again.
1) Jarwin
2) Schultz
3) Sprinkles
4) McKeon

The group is enough to not be a negative to the offense. No offensive coordinator will be planning for any of them so Dak will get a few wide open passes to them every game. Guess that was the strategy when putting our TE group together. Be so underwhelming that teams just wont guard them. Brilliant.

What exactly has Jarwin done for some to automatically be the starter over Schultz?

The one game vs the putrid Giants a few years back?

I like Jarwin too and think the Cowboys were smart in his extension but I thought Schultz showed that he can be a starter in this league last year. I think Jarwin is a better down field threat, and faster, but Imo Schultz is the better blocker.

Disagree....kind of like a MLB team bringing 20 guys to camp and hoping that something great spills out. We need to quit throwing tweeners out there at the TE position, and go get a stud one of these years. It's possible that Chuckles may have to cough up some of his inheritance (Free Agent) money to get one....I would have loved Kyle Rudolph when he was available...wasn't even that expensive.
