Imagine how much better CeeDee is going to be in 2021 with a full season of Dak Prescott

Did we dream the 8-8 season the year before with a healthy Dak? And there is no excuse in the world that excuses the loss to the Jets. Not even being saddled with....Jason Garrett as HC.

Probably one of the worst losses for the Cowboys in many bad losses. Another true Garrett special. That was the day the defense made Sam Darnold look like Patrick Mahomes.

1) Dak was NOT healthy the whole season.. He should not have played the second Eagles game after not practicing all week.. you decide if you want to put having Cooper Rush as the backup that year on Garrett or the Joneses.. Either way, it was stupid.
2) Having Cooper call it a day after 3? snaps cost us that Jets game. And yes, having Garrett as HC led to the Cowboys not having a viable plan B if Cooper went down or was limited that year, which he was pretty much that entire season. Even without Cooper, Dak and the offense put up 22 points.. which if the defense had simply done it's job on a damn 98 yard TD pass would have been enough to win.

2019 season says hi!

Our defense held opponents to an average of 20.1 PPG. We went 8-8.

Offense scored 27 points a game. Thats a 7 point winning differential. So what happened?

Special teams was a big part of it. Worst special teams in the NFL. Do you recall all the missed FG's? Garrett took 2/3 of the season to fire the kicker. One of Garretts worst years as coach.

We lost 3 games where our defense held our opponents to 12, 13, and 17.

That's what happened.

I don't know how you could rank any below that one.. No viable backup QB.. No legitimate #2 receiver.. Basically a microcosm of the whole Garrett era.. Dude simply was not a very good game day coach. Many have raved about his preparation and his approach through the week.. but if things didn't go to plan on game day he was often left with kind of a dumb *** look on his face.. And don't forget the ST failings in the NE game when talking about special teams. Horrible field position was a calling card for that team.. I think they made it to week 13 before starting a series in opposing territory that year.. Unbelievable.

We also lost three games where the offense scored 22, 24 and 24.. That's what happened.. Plenty of blame to go around for that failed season.

Yep, not a great year. Hence the 8-8 record. Nice to see the defense actually showing up. Too bad they didnt do that last year. 37 points per game average. OUCH!!

But I am glad to see you finally figured out that defense is important.

Anyone that raved about Garrett has been laughed off the site. Remember IDGIT? Poor guy. As soon as they cut Garrett he tucked tail and ran. Couldnt handle life without his hero.

2019 was the one season where we can say that EVERYONE contributed in their own way to the 8-8.

Garrett, special teams, defense, offense, Dak, Zeke, Oline, ect....ect..... It was a full team effort.

I was always hopeful that Garrett would learn.. His preparation during the week was good.. but the fact the he always seemed to be a paint by numbers OC so once teams figured out his formula he was pretty much done IMHO. But I thought that his preparation and organizational skills would serve him as HC and let somebody else call the plays on game day.. Part of me worries that we might be seeing some of that in Kellen Moore.. Remember how unstoppable the Cowboys offense would get when we went no huddle and let Romo call the plays? Now fast forward to the present and we see a lot of the same things when we go no huddle and let Dak call the plays. It's like the guy on the field is better able to manage the game than some guy standing on the sidelines.. Who knew?

I cant handle any type of compliments to Garrett.

Garretts preparation was terrible. Do you remember his game plans? "take what the defense gives you". He would roll out the EXACT same plan EVERY game. Wouldnt attack weaknesses or avoid strengths of the defense, ect....ect....

So many weapons on offense and any 1 of them could go off for a big game. That defense though is still terrible.

The injury was the best thing that could've happened to Dak. We were 1-3 when he broke his leg. We weren't going to make any noise.

The injury probably is the reason he was paid when another 8-8 or worse season would have not got him a new contract.
He didn't break his leg. Jeez you don't even know what happened. You've become one of the biggest Trolls on the site.

Did Dak play DE or DT or LB or CB or S or Special Teams or Coach? Any of those? Damn Trolls.

You haven't even seen the 2021 defense yet so how can you say that?
I will do handsprings if we manage to improve to mediocre which would be a HUGE jump.

I guess its possible to be worse than last year but you would have to work at it.

But then this is the Dallas Cowboys we are talking about...

Well yes, but he's also going to lose some touches down the seam to Jarwin, I would assume.

That's better for the offense, but I don't think CD is going to get as many of those balls over the middle.

It'll be tough looking back on Lamb's career thinking what might have been if not for Blake Jarwin.
