you are cherry picking let it go hes very good kicker ..i Remember worse the few years prior. Hes fine let it go..like i said rather the Coaches hesitate to kick 50plus and go for it and be aggressive to cored more tds and get more 1st downs settling for FGs is good formula to lose a lot of close games..
He was 16th in the league last year in field goal percentage. That isn't cherry-picking. That's average. We need better than that overall. It's great that he's very good inside the 50, which is why he still has the job, but that doesn't mean you can't find better. My problem is with not trying.
The guys ahead of Zuerlein were very good from 50-plus. Zuerlein limits us to not being able to attempt those long field goals without the expectation of doing poorly on them. That should not be our expectation. I'm not too hard on him because of what he does from 49 in, but it isn't accurate to call him a very good kicker in light of what very good kickers do. His numbers say he's an average kicker. Thankfully, he's only average when you factor in those long ones.
No one here could say they wouldn't rather have someone like Younghoo Koo, who was 8/8 from 50-plus (94 percent overall), or Jason Sanders, who was 8/9 from 50-plus (92 percent overall), over Zuerlein (82 percent overall) at this point. Are those guys easy to find? No. But again that doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying.
