I don't see the Cowboys keeping a FB on the roster this year. FB wouldn't even see the active roster unless he were an absolute beast on special teams. TEs and DL can handle the FB duties. Antuan Woods was the short yardage FB last year for a while.

I agree.
I think Vasher is the one most likely to stick.

I don't care how good this FB is, I don't see them keeping more than one FB on the team and he won't be a rookie. The UDFA that I see having the best chance to make the team is Vasher. He'll be the perfect replacement for Mike Gallup if Mike turns out to be too expensive to re-sign next year.

Seeing its' really Kellen Moore's offense - and not Mccarthy's.
i'm not seeing a john kuhn re-creation here.

only way is that FB has to be a demon on special teams, lead gunner and tackler.
blocking and caching is gonna come 2nd.

i think they'll choose another Woods - Looney jumbo type package as a lead blocker on occasions
after the last two seasons with Moore and the FB, .i just don't expect anything worthwhile.;

After adding 11 new players through the 2021 NFL Draft and others in free agency, the Dallas Cowboys haven’t left much room for their undrafted free agents to get onto the 53-man roster. If any of the undrafted rookie class can make it, Fullback Nick Ralston from Louisiana may have the best opportunity.

Sewo Olonilua (6'3", 240) probably has a better chance of making the team roster at FB since he's been with the team for a year already (practice squad in 2020), so he knows the Offense/playbook and is bigger, much more athletic and can catch better out of the backfield than rookie UDFA Nick Ralston (6'0", 237). Both are ex-RBs turned FB once they got signed by the Cowboys. It will be interesting to see if either one makes the team. It might come down to which one is a better lead blocker against bigger opposing defensive players.

Agree, would not give this guy the best chance of making the team out of all the undrafted guys.

Special teams will be the deciding factor. Can he stand out on STs? Yes? Well maybe they'll keep him over a 4th TE or a 7th LB

Idk if Ralston makes the team, but I picked him to before any practices because of his versatility. Also I think his skill set translates to STs.

2 things: 1) Ralston at 6'0 has better leverage more conducive to playing FB and only 3 pounds lighter, so Sewo being "bigger" isn't really a plus. 2) Ralston is a former RB and was used in the slot, and caught passes from there, so I'm not sure Sewo is a better receiver.
The FB for us has not been a key since the moose days and the offense in the league has changed since those days.
If you look at the best running teams in the league most have a legit FB, not TE masquerading.
