60 million for Cooper for 22-24 with only a 6 million dead money hit or sign Gallup for probably somehwere near Golladay money (5yr 72 mill)?
If Gallup is asking for Golladay money than he wont be here, but I think the closer comp is Curtis Samuel and what he got with WFT.
Curtis Samuel signed a three year, $34.5 million contract with $23 million in guarantees with the Washington Football Team. $23 million is guaranteed including a $12 million signing bonus. Samuel can earn up to $400,000 in per game bonuses in each year of the contract. Another $750,000 in Pro Bowl incentives are available.

Gallup is only 1 year younger than Cooper.
That surprises me. Hardly a question of going with youth if choosing one to keep between those 2.
Lamb will make it tough to keep all 3.

He's a solid number two receiver. He is not a number one given that he did not produce number one numbers when Cooper was out. So he should be paid as a number two.
So was Alvin Harper. I do not know if a team would hold his numbers when he had to fill in against him. Some will but he will land with a team and they will try him as a #1. And a lot of that depends on what other WR's they have. What did the Cowboys have to go with Gallup before Cooper?

Love the player and the kid, but I give it about a 10% chance of him staying. he had 1100+ yards as a Number 2, 2 years ago, and missed 2 games, with a starting caliber QB. He'll get too much for Dallas to match elsewhere imo.

His stats and position match is Golladay, not Samuel. He will get much closer to Golladay money with another 70rec 1100 yard season.

"Obviously, I'd love to stay here," he said. "I'd love to be in Dallas. I love the community, love the city, love the fans, so it's up in the air, but I want to be right here. So we'll see."

Interesting to hear him discuss it, my feeling is he’ll be open to a team friendly deal but some team will blow us out of the water. As a 3rd round pick he’s going to have to take that money.

We're already overinvested at WR, in money and picks. Pumping a free agent contract into Gallup would only make that worse.

We should have tried to cash out Gallup last year. Peak Gallup was when he led a comeback after Dak got injured. Might have still gotten a 2nd. With his decreased role last year, I doubt we can still get a 2nd for him. Play out his contract, take the comp pick, and be glad for it. Don't even think about signing him. That should be plain to him too.

Why would anyone expect him not to get the max for his services? He's certainly given that on the field.

The question is his involvement in the offense this season. Do they feature Lamb more and try and showcase Fehoko because they know they're going to lose Gallup?

Is there a situation where they end up with Lamb/Gallup at 1/2 or Cooper/Gallup and trade the odd guy out?

If I am McC and Moore, I'd want to find out if Lamb can be a more consistent 1WR than Cooper. Cooper has had this invisible man thing since he got in the league.

The real question is how does Gallup view himself? Does he see himself as a #1 and want #1 money, who could blame him? He's been a great pick.

The real question is whether anyone but Gallup's mom will see him as a #1 after this year. He just won't get the balls. Lamb will get more, and Jarwin will be back. Gallup will likely go from the 2nd target in 2019 to the 4th target in 2021. Snaps and targets will be down. He'll have to work hard to maintain separation from Wilson.

while i appreciate the optimism on a "team friendly" deal...i think its all bs...players, esp in dallas, are rarely willing to leave money on the table esp on their second contract. Hes probably gone unforutnatly
Players don’t sign team friendly deals on their first contract
The number of player who have ever done that with any team is very small

What? Dude is in a contract year and will want to showcase himself to the max. Why would we throw an unseasoned rookie to the wolves when we'd have a guy wanting to produce extra hard? You ride that horse for all its worth if you can. Why would you handicap your offense?
It’s to teams advantage to have a guy leaving in FA have his best year ever
That’s what gets them big money and the team a better comp pick

Many things will happen between now and then that will change plenty....

But I agree that's the range he can expect to get if all goes his way.

There's a ton of good WR out there and good ones in each draft.

He isnt getting anything close to Cooper money.

I don’t expect the TE position to get more than last year even with jarwin back
Very rarely is TE the primary target on a play
His big play ability is what teams will like
He’s not gonna get top 5 money but he will get some nice offers

a #1 in hand is better than 2 in the bush. That is a risk to get rid of a "young" #1 like cooper hoping Gallup and Lamb will develop into that.

I find this take absurd. Wilson won't be on the field enough to do what you are saying.

I still think fans need to sit back and watch how this plays out. A lot of assuming he's gone because of salary.....same thing the Steelers expected with Juju and he came on a ridiculously cheap deal.

For me to get rid of Cooper he has to be terrible this year. His worst season in the league. If I need to get rid of salary in order to keep Gallup then I'm looking at other positions to rid salary of.

The important thing is that he is going to want to really shine during his contract year. Perhaps there is an outside chance the Cowboys could extend him before the end of the season. In any case, the fact that he is using the season to interview for a max contract can only help the Cowboys this year.
