Hard Knocks is showing what is important to the franchise

If you are whining about Hard Knocks, go read the article someone in this tread linked to. Excellent points made. Two of my favorite quotes.

But make no mistake, the Cowboys are on “Hard Knocks” this year because they are still America’s Team. Any honest person (sorry Florio) doesn’t need a reminder.

So no, this isn’t Jerry Jones trying to pull a spotlight back on his team. He’s already got it and always does, and especially in 2021 after Dak Prescott’s free agency and new contract was the biggest story of the NFL offseason.



If Dak played for the Bengals, would his contract have been such a big deal? Biger than Rodgers crap going on in GB? As they said above... Jones always has the spotlight.... ALWAYS.

Yea , maybe so. But not sure how to measure effects. I do think we could argue it’s a distraction. Again, how much the effects is tough to measure.

well the Cowboys have more media all year long by huge amounts than all other teams. How much attention did the 92-96 team have??? didnt seem to bother them on the field.

Yep . Jethro had nothing to do with this . But he always welcomes the spotlight. As Denver rejected and NY spoke out against it as well.

same reason Tex constantly promoted the Cowboys team. why did he latch on to NFL films America's Team? Landry did not care for it. why did Tex have the Cowboys play in Europe vs the Bears?

Well, when you have the best overall talent not as much effect. And then there was 94 which did cost us. So there’s that. 96 had plenty of distractions that cost us too.
 
Cowboys fans are weird on this site.....a few months back some fans were mad that we are on the season opener....now they're upset we are on Hard Knocks....

Those fans are the same ones that crap on everything so it was no surprise. Just create any thread with a positive slant and watch what happens.

its marketing at its purest...its NFL marketing and Jones loves it because its cowboys marketing...increased sales and interest. and it gives jones face time on TV acting as if the cameras aren't there (yeah right)

I dont care.... just stating FACTS that go against everyone whining that Jerry does this stuff to keep the spotlight on the team. The spotlight is on the team... always, no matter what Jerry does or doesnt do.

Why would that be inconsistent though? We got both slots due to the team's popularity above all other things. Probably got the extra pre-season game due to the same thing.
 
Meh. Maybe some day we will be good enough that we won't have to have these asinine discussions.
