How i see Dak Prescott;
Plus:
- Great leadership ability and magnetic character presence and intangibles
- Great competitor, teammates feed off his winning presence
- Excellent physical tools - Good arm/Good size/good mobility
- Extremely coachable, fast learner, relentless worker
- Improved decision making, progression reads, accuracy and throwing mechanics.
- Becoming more efficient with hitting receivers in tight quarters, small windows (but not in Russell's league yet)
- Can throw effectively both in the pocket and on the run.
- Excellent scrambling ability to get away from pressure.
- Displaying quicker pass set up and drop, getting ball out quicker in pocket.
- Has comeback/come from behind ability
- Tough and durable. Prior to-ankle injury, started every game since NFL entry
- Normally a careful ball handler
- There was a time I thought Prescott would always be limited to bus drive management type and never thought he’d develop into a bonafide passing machine.
Minus:
- Can he perform elite vs the top defenses ? ala Rams, Saints, Bucs, Ravens Washington, etc.
- Not a pure natural passer- had to really work hard to technically twine and fine tune his throwing mechanics;
Some particular QBs can throw off their back foot repeatedly and never seem to miss a beat on target accuracy. If Dak’s throwing mechanics get off balanced,
his passes easily get behind or skip to targets
- Good arm strength, not great arm. Not a booming arm such as Rodgers, Mahomes, McNabb, Young or a Moon
- Needs to take better care of body away from unnecessary pounding-punishment; not taking on tacklers (ala broken ankle vs Giants) -
Slide to ground.. or run out of bounds before tacklers arrive.
- Progressing well but still still has speed bumps as a passer;
- Doesn't always get untracked early in game; partly reason why we tend to have slow starts
- Playoff blot still a nuisance hinder. Hasn't advance his team to even NFC title game. A Romo trend until he proves otherwise.
