Yeah that has been a weakness of dak….combined with some terrible vanilla play calling by kellen & jg inside the 5 specifically we have left a lot of points off the board.

Dak Career Stats (unlike posting 1 season's worth of stats to somehow show a skewed approach):

Opponents Red Zone

137 of 253 54.15% Comp % 981 Yards 59 TD's 7 INT's 20 Sacks

Opponents 1-10 Yard Line

56 of 116 48.28% Comp % 241 Yards 36 TD's 4 INT's 7 Sacks

Is that he's horrible in the redzone. Look at these stats and who he's ahead of.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/redzone-passing.htm

And those stats dont even include his rushing the ball into the endzone as a QB. His rating would be even better if that was in there.

THAT being said, the Cowboys offense hasnt been up on par with the way they are able to drive up and down the field. The running game has been the big issue down there. Passing game can be better as well.

I am a huge Dak supporter as many here know. But he definitely needs to work on his RZ passing. His TD numbers are inflated because hes run in quite a bit of TDs himself. I dont see that being the same after the ankle. Just being honest.

I dont think those stats include rushing in the TD's. Its passing ONLY.

I'm more concerned about the win column. Stats look great for the individual but do nothing for the team.

Scoring lots of points does nothing for the team? :lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

How do you win if you cant score points?

Sort those stats by pass attempts inside the 10 as well and you'll see he's way down the list.
Yes, because he is terrible at fitting the ball in those tight spots so Moore never calls those plays. Short pass to Zeke or throw a safe one up in the corner.

This needs to change or it will always and forever doom us against quality defenses.

The TD to INT ration is important here, at 16-0. Now the others above him are decent as well. I bet many did not know Dak has 0 picks inside the 20. But that will not be acknowledged.
.......

It's because it isn't true

He has a solid ratio in the red zone (and deserves credit) but he has thrown several picks in there. Not sure where that zero comes from, but its not true.

In fact, he threw a crippling one vs Green Bay in a playoff game

29 - 24 since 2016. Next excuse..............

LOL..........so even if you take out the Cowboys BEST season with Dak they still has a winning record?

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Any angle you trolls take you get blasted out of the water. It is absolutely hilarious!!!!

He’s 42-27. Thanks for asking. And that’s with bad defenses most of those years.

....and he is 29-24 since his rookie season......but I thought according to you and others a team record is not solely on the QB.....unless trying to reflect him to be a winner in your point?

Kyle Pitts would've turned Dak into a red zone superstar.
I think one issue is we don’t have a great red zone guy
Dez was really good and Witten too in his younger days
Schultz should get better and we added some big WR who may be good targets there

Is Prescott playing by himself or are there 10 other guys?

I recall Aikman and Romo throwing picks inside the 20 way too often.

It is important but not sure it is a good thing.. completely. I mean, no INT is always good but is it a result of risk aversion being way out of whack in the Red Zone. Would we rather no INT if it means the QB is only throwing to either wide open WR or pre determined spots (think a Fade) and not giving his WR a chance to otherwise make a play. I am not suggesting a gunslinger mentality and 3 points is always better than 0 points, so that's always important. But I also don't want my QB playing scared or without confidence. There are times he needs to be more aggressive in his progressions and trust his WR more.

The thing Dak struggles with, and the reason why Moore is a bit handcuffed inside the ten, is highlighted by your post.

Sort those stats by, 'TD's inside the 10', and Dak is way down the list. I would bet a steak dinner that if you look at the specifics of the 7 TD passes he threw from inside the 10, most of them would be to Zeke who ran it in. A couple corner fades, maybe. Moore doesn't even call any passes to the middle area of the endzone. There is a reason why Moore ignores such a significant part of any offensive attack plan.

Your thread actually highlights the significant problem in Dak's game which absolutely holds the offense back in certain, often critical situations.

Hopefully this season is the year Dak shows some progress in those situations.

This is by far one of the dumbest arguments made. The "over the middle" thing. But I give you credit for be a very inventive troll.:clap:

My only real complaint with Dak is his contract. It should have been for less money and more years.

In 2019 he had 2 more Red Zone TD's than M. Trubiskey and the same as Jimmy G. and R. Fitzpatrick......so your point is that Dak is on the same level as those QB's?

I think your new name will be USCHERRYPICK. :lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2:
