There was no intended choice for the Cowboys in the draft. I heard reports that they wanted Surtain. Then somebody said it was Horn. Then they were trading up for Kyle Pitts. Then they were hoping Penei Sewell would slide.

At this point I think Parsons really was their guy all along. After years of fans complaining the Cowboys were telegraphing their draft targets I think they sent out a lot of smokescreens on purpose- and the fans and media ate it all up.

True but after the fact when being questioned if Parsons was their intention , they said he was.

I think the only explanation for this was the Cowboys had corner as their number one need and once the top two were gone, they shifted back to best player available. It's clear the Cowboys were going need over BPA in this draft since eight of the eleven picks were on defense.

And if you think it’s all about the QB…how do you explain Eli’s two rings? Was it all about Eli? The 2012 Ravens won a ring with Joe Flacco. The 2017 eagles with Nick Foles. Why hasn’t the great Aaron Rodgers win more than one ring? Or Russel Wilson?

Foles never would have won the SB if Wentz didnt get them in position to be number 1 seed, and Wentz was gonna be the MVP of the league prior to getting hurt. This is not complicated... 80% of the SB winners have a HOF qb. Thats how I explain Eli. All teams have solid players... its the NFL, so obviously the QB aint throwing to himself. All those rosters fit nicely into the bell shaped curve..... some a little better, some a little worse.. roughly equal.

yawn... I can name 28 GMs that have done jack and wont do Jack.. thats why 5 or so get fired every year. Then a team hits the magic pill that solves all Ills ( a stud QB) and all of the sudden the GM is a genius. Next GM to be great is in Charger land.

My argument is no gm is any better than another. The draft is a crapshoot every year. Back in the day there was serious debate over who would better...Leaf or Manning. Tells you how inexact drafting players really is.
