Scarlett Johansson sues Disney for releasing ‘Black Widow’ in theaters and on Disney+

Doubt it - they could have put a unk actress as Black Widow and she still would have been highly successful due to the story the MCU gave everyone. My entire family has enjoyed the heck out of this story they've put together - not once did I feel, wow they hit it out of the park with Johansson as Black Widow. I'm guessing I'm not the only one with those feelings.
I'm sure you're not, but that doesn't mean there aren't a great deal of people who might not have otherwise watched the movie. She does have a great many fans.

Good point about Florence Pugh. Her resume to-date is short but arguably strong. Of course, I would also argue that her Yelena Belova is not as well-known in the comics as Natasha but can concede core audiences "know" her since the character has been around for the last two decades.

Totally agree that the MCU is practically an unstoppable money making machine. In my opinion Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans were both well-established with the acting chops to succeed right off the bat. Evans had already played Johnny Storm in the (not seriously created/my opinion) Fantastic Four movies. My only real doubt about Downey was his past real-life addiction problems undercutting his skills. Glad he has succeeded so well personally and professionally in that regard.

Now, Chris HEMSWORTH is a good counterargument for my stance on unknown actors casted for an iconic fictional character. He has blown my socks off from day one. Looked liked the prince of Asgard. Had the swagger of Odinson. Great pick for the role.
Honestly though, the look is a huge (pun not intended) part of fitting an actor with Thor. There are a lot of actors who could voice the part much better, IMO, but this is one case in which a large size, muscular build, and chiseled jaw are absolutely necessary.

Careful. She's been corrupted by Amber Heard and is now a member of the dark side. She's busy having robots of herself built that she'll use as an army to take over the world. Here's the first prototype robot of her.

I doubt Scarlett is flattered by this, if she knows about it...which I'm sure she does.

She has never shown an ability to draw people to her movies on her own so I doubt that. at least to the point of them putting down hard money.

Not a universally received film but it got me to pay twice during it original theatrical run. Then again, I am a Johansson fan lol.

Settle down there buddy, it's ok. :)
Settle down? Ah, a silly little term used when one has lost an argument? Since your answer didn't appear to fit, that's the only reasonable conclusion!!! Thanks for the win bud, and calm down, it's OK to lose!!!!!!

Do what? I guess I missed this question of yours that I'm dodging.

I was just joking around with my response to you. But whatever, congrats on the win. Glad I could help you feel a little better today.

Employee sues their employer and we all chime in. Anyone here know what her contract with them is?

You might want to take a look at the difference in the artists' compensation and the execs at Disney for the non-theatrical take on films. Think the execs at Disney haven't looked at that?

If they could have used a no name and paid them less to get the same attendance, they would have done so but they wanted her to continue to play the character.

Calm down, dude. When you choose to go snarky, you won't have a good convo. Not sure that was your intention anyway!!!!!!

I should probably watch this movie sometime. Though it is more likely that I will forget this thought in a few minutes and end up never watching it.

I thought you should see the trailer since you will probably not see the movie anyway. :p

I've never watched it, and maybe someday I will, but I'm not in a big rush. The whole "10%" think is a load of crap. It just isn't real. So I could never suspend my disbelief and my irritation at them perpetuating misinformation long enough to enjoy the movie.
