Not sure if trying to drag Scarlett Johansson into the perpetual Amber Heard nonsense is ban worthy. Let me think...My time machine has been malfunctioning lately. I tried again to go back in time to 1965 to get together with a young Catherine Deneuve, but it sent me 1965 years into the future. I was lucky to even get home. I suspect Amber Heard sabotaged it, but now I'm starting to realize that she and Scarlett Johansson have teamed up against me! Thanks to them, I nearly got trapped 1,965 years in the future, and that future wasn't pretty, let me tell you. Humans are gone and replaced by clunky android/robots, and the dominant life form are these big-white puffy things that look like giant marshmallows. The NFL is still played by these goofy androids, and there's an android with Jerry Jones' conscious transplanted in it that's still looking for its 4th ring.
There was no sexy Catherine Deneuve in sight, and the best I could have done would have been to make love to a giant marshmallow without having any way of knowing what gender it even was. Fortunately, the marshmallow people were intelligent and helped me to fix my time machine -- or I never would have gotten back. I nearly got stranded there thanks to those *****es, Amber and Scarlett!
And now that Scarlett is whining about her movie getting streamed? That Karen.
Is "unk" short for "unknown?"Doubt it - they could have put a unk actress as Black Widow and she still would have been highly successful due to the story the MCU gave everyone. My entire family has enjoyed the heck out of this story they've put together - not once did I feel, wow they hit it out of the park with Johansson as Black Widow. I'm guessing I'm not the only one with those feelings.
Yes sirIs "unk" short for "unknown?"
Yup, just like themOh, like every other big name actor?
Casting is not an exact science. Not every actor with a brief or non-existent resume can get slotted into a role regardless of what any movie is about. It can be detrimental if actor and role do not mesh well.Yes sir
Your doubts are unfounded, and your one exception does not a rule make!!!!Doubt it - they could have put a unk actress as Black Widow and she still would have been highly successful due to the story the MCU gave everyone. Settle down there buddy, it's ok.Your doubts are unfounded, and your one exception does not a rule make!!!!
Most of the guys I talk to want to see the movie because it's her.
See, the "new" Black Widow is a relatively unknown (Fighting with my family I'm guessing is her biggest role prior to this) and to me, she stole the show.Casting is not an exact science. However, it is not impossible. Daisy Ridley was an unknown and she has made Rey legendary for the Star Wars franchise. Then again, that example was a marriage of unknown actress with unknown character. The core audience of Marvel movies is uniquely familiar with a character that first appeared in the early 1960's and became a household name for comic book fans. They would have an expectation for how well any actress could "fit" the part. And any core audience is the foundation of any film's ultimate success.
In my opinion, there was a small available pool of established actresses before 2010 who could have portrayed Natasha Romanoff as well as Johansson. I think it would be a bit of a stretch expecting an unknown actress to be as well-received by audiences.
Scarlett is swinging by my house tonight. I'll chat with her and let you guys know the dets!!
Good point about Florence Pugh. Her resume to-date is short but arguably strong. Of course, I would also argue that her Yelena Belova is not as well-known in the comics as Natasha but can concede core audiences "know" her since the character has been around for the last two decades.See, the "new" Black Widow is a relatively unknown (Fighting with my family I'm guessing is her biggest role prior to this) and to me, she stole the show.
I guess my whole point was this MCU was almost too big to fail, once Downey Jr., Evans and Hemsworth nailed their roles as the three main figures.
Careful. She's been corrupted by Amber Heard and is now a member of the dark side. She's busy having robots of herself built that she'll use as an army to take over the world. Here's the first prototype robot of her.
Did you ready any of the article at all that clearly explains her situation? And now that Scarlett is whining about her movie getting streamed? That Karen.
You just described the entire movie industry, not just Johansson.Sure hope she gets compensated for all that hard work making a movie where:
Someone else writes her lines
Someone else gives her direction on what to do
Someone else does any physical stunts where she might get hurt
Someone else does all her makeup and hair
Someone else lays out her clothes and what to wear
Someone else cleans her clothes when when not working
Someone else provides food and shelter for her
Someone else provides travel arrangements for her
Someone else edits everything to make it look good
Sounds exhausting...poor thing
