The QB play last night was nothing less than atrocious. How the team could be this far in to training camp with these backup QB’s and think that they could play is mind boggling. They’ve seen them every OTA, mini-camp and every day in training camp. Really disappointed they haven’t gotten a decent backup from day one so that he could get acclimated with the offense. They better get off their rear ends fast and bring someone in because if Dak goes down for a few games, we ain’t winning squat.

No wonder the defence is ahead of the offence.

Well, I'm not as down on our current backups as some others here are, but IF I had to sign another QB TODAY from who is currently available, I'd sign RG3.

The QB that lead the NFL in INTs last year threw 15 INTS.
Dak had 4 INTS through 4 1/2 games. That is on pace for 14ish INTS.

The NFL leader in fumbles last year had 11 fumbles.
Dak had 3 fumbles (all 3 were lost fumbles) through 4 1/2 games. That is on pace for 10ish (if rounded would be 11) fumbles..

So when he was on pace for 1 less INTs than the QB that threw the most INTs and also was on pace for 1 less fumble (the same amount if you round though) than the player with the most fumbles. What do you get?

P.S The guy that led in INTS and the guy that lead in fumbles are not the same person.

I've been saying this for weeks now. And after last night, it just confirms the negligence of this FO in finding a proper backup QB who is qualified to be in the NFL. They are depending on a QB who is coming off a major ankle injury and now has a "sore arm" to boot. And to believe he will play every game and every snap is even more ludicrous. They need to make a one year deal at least with a proven backup QB out there who will not embarrass himself and the team. To get someone good enough, they may need to make a trade, which is why they are hesitant right now.

I’m just not sure it matters to be honest. Gilbert can probably fill in a week or two depending on the opponents, however reality on the nfl is if you lose your starting qb for an extended period you are done for. Just look at last season, our backup qb is now a starter for another team and we still couldn’t win.

I wouldn't call him a starter, but really a seat warmer until Fields takes over. Get real. But i would not mind trading for Foles for the backup job.

Before trying to bring in a backup QB, need to bring in someone who knows how to bring in an NFL back up QB.
