This is a disturbing turn for you, Floaty.
I know a long time poster who went through it on the old forum. He transformed from a perpetual Eeyore to a happy wordsmith about five years ago. Sadly, over the past two seasons he’s transformed back…no naming names, but I imagine there’s a couple of posters that know of whom I speak!

The defense has looked great no matter what you say. Even if it is against backup QB’s.

Not everyone looked great. And again, most if its against backups. It does matter who you play. So do you think we are winning the SB based on two preseason games?

We are. I heard Jerry bought tickets for the team on the 50 yard line.

After watching last nights loss to the Cardinals...I came away convinced we are the team to beat in the NFC.

Why?

Defensive pressure....

If teams are gonna live in the spread/shotgun offense...and we rush 5 or 6 guys like we did all night long last night....

We are gonna be a hand full to deal with.

And to think we didn't even have our starters going....

Seriously....I'm buying in now.

If you look @ this team...the majority of our guys are hitting their prime....right now.

Breaking down position by position...we have as much talent as anyone in the league.

The only thing I see keeping us from getting to the top is bad coaching and/or injury.

Injuries happen...

But right now...on the coaching front....Kellen has the weapons....and I think we have enough depth on the O-line to keep things from happening like they did last season....

Defensively....Adding Dan Quinn's aggressiveness is gonna be huge.

It looks like getting after the QB isn't just going to be lip service this year. We got some dudes this year...

And we haven't even seen D-Law and Gregory yet....

It just feels like we are so much deeper on defense than years past....and we are finally phasing out the guys that teams used to target....

Anthony Brown
Jaylon
Lee
Crawford
Thompson

Still a little worried about special teams....if we can find someone to return kicks...and if Zuerlein will be healthy....but for now....I'm buying into what direction we are headed as a team.

It's been a long time since I could say with confidence...I feel like we can compete with anybody...and mean it.

I just feel like our time is now...and for whatever comes our way Jerry needs to push all in to make it happen now. If injuries hit...so be it....push through it. Make the moves necessary to go all the way. We have the talent now...now all we need is the commitment to see it through...

For a guy who purports to know a lot about football, you're reading a lot into a couple of preseason games.

I'm waiting to see how the first two real games go, with starters and an actual game plan (for both teams).

I hope you're right, but I've read "Super Bowl bound" on message boards many times and have yet to see it happen. I wasn't on the internet the last time it did.

You might have the case of "premature exaltation" a bit here buckaroo. Yes, i am sure the defense will be playing better than last year, but that is a low bar to clear. It will be a new scheme with mostly new players. The offense should be fine since Dallas has invested heavily and paid more attention to it the last several years. I do expect them to have a better record than last year and contend for the division title. But being SB bound i don't know. I reserve judgment on that until i at least see them on the field. Most teams feel just as optimistic at this point of the season.
Closer to this.

Love the enthusiasm and feel like we say this every year. I was saying it last year. One question I have for the OP…your basing this on getting to the QB and not saying anything about the run defense. You know the best way to beat a pass rush? Right, run the ball and we couldn’t stop anyone all year. Everyone ran the ball down our throats. QB’s ran the ball down our throats. Great, we’ll rush all our LB’s and blitz until the cow’s come home as a jet sweep goes for 30 yds. We aren’t doing anything until we show we can stop the run.

Not on 2 preseason games but on the offseason moves the team made both in players and coaches. I don’t think they’ll win the SB but I do think they have a chance.

No Kyler Murray, Hopkins, Fitz, or AJ Green playing for em on offense

Yeah, we're Super Bowl bound if we play the bare bones of every team this year.

Great so we agree.

And that chance is it a good one?

I would say two years of good drafting and possibly a great coach that replaces what we have and yes? possibly.
If Diggy, Goldy, Bonanas, and one of the CB's work out, we're closer than that. Hard to say at this point.

Haters and homers are acceptable terms here because even if we banned them, they would just be replaced with another set of words that would ultimately mean the same thing.
Oooohhh, now that is a good point. Well done my good man.

How many others teams have a chance , in your opinion?

This is why the fans of other teams think Cowboys fans are the most ridiculous fans in the NFL. Who in their right mind proclaims a super bowl after 2 pre season games?

I take it you haven't been to Exremeskins.com yet. The posters there proclaim a super bowl minutes after the draft.

I think they’ll be one of the 10 best teams in the NFL so I’d say they have a decent chance.
'

Ok, so not a good one.

If they stay healthy I think they can be one of the 10 best. The odds of winning the SB? A realist would put that at about 5-10% at best.
