Sooo.........at the start of this season, some of you rip on Dak and act as though it's over and he's going to fail? Why watch the season in that case? We don't know how this season is going to go. Part of the fun of being a fan is to hope for the best. I've got NO reason, compared to a lot of you to be optimistic since I've not seen success from this team. Yet, I still remain optimistic. Every year, I go into the season hoping for the best. I'm excited to see what we do this season. I'm glad to see Dak back. I'm hopeful that this defence is much better than last season. I like what I see from our starters. If I felt this season was going to be a total bust, then I wouldn't bother watching since I'd feel it wouldn't be worth my time.

Between 2016 and 2019, our record (total record) was 40-24. That averages out to 10-6. If we can stay at that pace, I can care less whether or not we beat Tom Brady... Don't get me wrong, I'd love to beat him for once but it's not a make or break....

And, with this division, 10-7 should be MORE than enough to win it. Ive said before, I see us going 11-6 with the way this schedule looks. We will probably have a slow start, but, I think we should crush the Eagles. From that point, the schedule gets easier (except for the Chiefs). We generally do well in the divisional games. So, I think we should be excited for this season.

I know I am... this team has a chance to win a lot of games this year if the defense just shows up consistently. I know that's asking a lot but a man can dream..

At first, it will be a lot to ask of the defence. But I think they will develop nicely as they gel.

If they stay healthy, the sky is the limit. I think Quinn is going to improve the defense quite a bit this year. And with Micah "3 and out" Parsons he's got a dog to utilize. Gregory playing more snaps, Osa clogging up the middle, shoot. I read where during one practice after a play Lawrence hugged Osa because he's freeing up the DE's to make plays. Again, the secondary looks like the weak spot at least right now.

I noticed a difference in the defense this preseason compared to the defense last season. Last year when the ball was snapped the LB'rs took a second to react. They had to think about what to do. This preseason when the ball was hiked the entire defense immediately moved. No hesitation. That's a good think.

Normally, when you're dealing with a guy who's only been in the league 5 years you wouldn't omit a season he just had just 5 seasons ago unless you're trying to fit a certain narrative. Its like when Eagles fans use to omit Wentz's 2016 season to make his credentials look better.

There's also the, "what have you done for me lately," thing.

I noticed the speed of the defense as well. They really flew to the ball. I think that gives us a chance to be really good. If the biguns up front can keep from being blown off the ball I really like the speed on the second level. I also think Gregory's speed off the edge is going to vastly improve our pass rush. I think Armstrong and Lawrence are kinda the same type of player and both are perfect LDEs so the DE rotation is going to be nice.. For all their warts I think LVE and Jaylon are solid backers when they're not fighting off 330 pound men.. Parsons and Neal have the look of true playmakers.. which should be a nice add with Donovan Wilson. I fully expect the young secondary to get torched for 400 yards in game one because of who they are facing.. but I think as the season wears on they will tighten up.. which will allow the pass rush to get home more and they can feed off one another..

Good point about LVE and Jaylon not having to fight off the big guys as much. Brady for sure is going to have a field day. They'll need to get some turnovers and not turn the ball over to with that game.

Yeah if the pass rush doesn't get in his face Brady will strafe that secondary for 400 yards and 5 TDs with all the weapons he's got to throw to. The one caveat being that as an older guy he might some out slower than folks expect. 44 year old bodies just take longer to get going no matter how much yoga you do or how good you eat. Their line is good but not really "great" so there will be opportunities to put some hits on him. It's just going to be a matter of whether the zebras allow it.

There is. But then when people bring up what he did last year its a issue because it doesn't fit a certain narrative. So IMO, to avoid all hidden agendas from both sides its probably best to not omit certain feats all to fit a narrative. The Cowboys lately have not had good records. No denying that. 8-8 in 2019....and last years mess. I don't think anyone would argue against that.

Seems like a miserable time to me. I mean, if he fails, especially with this defence in the shape they'll be in early, then the Cowboys lose. Unless they want the Cowboys to lose...

Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner.. I categorically reject any claim to fandom made by people who spend hours a day trashing our players. Even going so far as posting made up phony stats to justify their hate. I don't care what they say about how long they have been a fan yadda yadda yadda.. They aint no Cowboy fan..

Welcome to RonnieT world of hate-mongering!
A world where if you're not sold on our QB you do not qualify as a Cowboy fan.
Hey RonnieT we were here before Prescott and we will still be here when his failed reign will finally be over in Big D!
Now keep those silly excuses coming as I'm sure you have a boat-load of them.

I mean, criticising a player is one thing. But actively apparently cheering for him to fail is quite another imo. I criticise Dak when he plays poorly, but I don't go actively looking to criticise him. Same with Romo. I never actively sought to go after Romo. I'd defend Romo where I could, and I do the same for Dak. I go into each game hoping for a win and for all of our players to do well.
