Antonio Brown played a great game. Why would they cut/trade him?

Now, Anthony Brown had a not-so-great game, but I know he isn't who you meant, because that would be a huge over-reaction to his one-game performance (lacking as it may have been).

He's not cut out to be a starting boundary CB. This will only get worse as the season goes on...

If he plays the whole season there will be games where you say “Gee, Anthony Brown had a pretty good game today. I didn’t know he had it in him”

That will be the case because he isn’t going to be playing against receivers of the caliber he played against on week one. A lot of how a player looks is determined by who he lines up against that week.

Barring injury, there will be weeks where the Cowboys will be talked about as looking the part of SB Champs. TB might be the best team in the league and we went toe to toe with them and didn’t flinch.

I’ve said this multiple times talked up Jourdan Lewis before the Tampa game. He should start with Diggs and bring Brown in as a slot nickel dime CB with Canady and Wright as depth .

I don't think JLewis is amazing, but he competes, even after having recieved his second contract. Albeit cheaper than AB.

AB just sandbags and "does his job" the same way Zeke and Jackie Sunglasses have "done their job" after getting their second contract.

Lewis gets a pick in the end zone a fumble recovery at the 2 and had a nice finger tip deflection keeping Mike Evans from a long gain . I say start him switch him out with AB

Are you seeking attention? Your constant dramatic posts suggest so.
edgelord reply. If I were Tony Reali and you were on Around the Horn, i'd put you on mute and hold the joystick down until your score hit negative triple digits.

agree... one of the young guns, Canady, Lewis, and of course Diggs should be the top 4 corners, possibly in reverse order

AB should be inactive until he gets traded for a 6th or 7th

That's nonsense but believe that if you want to.

he's a waste of salary and the biggest liability on the team. ugh.
His average salary is 2M per year. His peers (salary wise) are just fringe roster players. Its not his fault the COACHING staff made a fringe player a CB1. If he was a 5th string CB and played Special Teams nobody would have an issue with him. The arrow should be pointed at the coaching staff and the GM; they did draft two players in the 1st three rounds at that spot and the fact they are not on the field tells you all you need to know. IMO this thread is picking on the wrong guy(s)

Canady, by all indications, was the 2nd best corner behind Diggs in Training Camp. I do not see why he's behind both Brown and Lewis on the depth chart.
I would like to see him get some playing time seems to be fairly talented

I also was a little shocked he did not see the field much that I saw. I noticed Kearse more than I wanted to.

The whole sub package system seemed excessive and over thought across the whole defense.

I missed all of the pre-game threads talking about how Brown would be a starter on any team. Right now he's what we've got. Hopefully some of the teams we play will allow us to scheme some help for him until Bossman or Wright can step up to the plate. I've heard praise for Canady in camp, but his history is a bit sparse.

I think Brown's salary is actually a little over $5m a year.

Oh don't get ahead of yourself, AB is not CB1 - Diggs has that on lock down, he is a pro bowler very soon, maybe even this year
