They had players 30 and 40 years ago that were just as fast if not faster than players today. Bob Hayes, Darrell Green and Bo Jackson could run past anyone today. NFLNetwork did a ranking of the fastest players to ever play in the NFL and those were the top three. You obviously haven’t been following football very long if you believe players aren’t bigger and stronger today.
I’ve been a fan of this team for 60 years. In the military overseas all you could get was the Cowboys. How can I not love the star and Robert represents. I train with a two time winning Super Bowl running back. Yeah guys today might be faster. But they do not hit Any hotter that you could notice. Especially with theAbsorbing equipment and gear they were
Maybe it’s not me that doesn’t know the game or the human body how it works

Don't forget that it was not a year round job. Many, the majority in fact, of the players weren't sure if they had jobs from season to season. They had "off-season" jobs.
One of the ways that teams used to sign players was to have a good offseason job available for the player. My pee-wee football coach was Don Estes, who used to play OG for the chargers years ago. When I got older, he told me that the offseason jobs was a big benefit that teams used to sign the top free agents during that time period.

Name one starting 216 pound linebacker in the NFL? There’s no way the average weight of an NFL linebacker is 216 pounds. Most of them are 230+.
The average size of the future top linebacker in this sample is 6-foot-1.9, 216 pounds. The 260-pounder (Devin White) is a considerable outlier with the next heaviest linebacker being 235 pounds as a high school prospect.

You can’t know the game very well if you think players weren’t as fast 30 and 40 years ago but are just as big and strong 30 and 40 years ago.

They’re talking about high school prospects. Lol NFL linebackers are 230+.

One thing to consider is that even super star status players would hide or play through injuries for fear of being replaced. Read Joe kleckos book to get insight of the real men playing ball in the 70's and 80's

These current pansys have guaranteed contracts and cheerleaders like Jerry that keep them on rosters in perpetuity.

There were a number of players 30 and 40 years ago at RB that were comparable in size to players today. Cornerbacks were comparable in size to players today. However, in general players today are much bigger and stronger. Just look at the size of wide receivers today compared to 30 and 40 years ago.

I agree with that statement. But you have to also understand how well these players are protected today in the turf they play on . I don’t think there’s any comparison with the other guys were tougher. Roger Staubach. Steve Young. I’d like to see the quarterbacks take those hits. Maybe I’m just biased. Because I’m old LOL. I train with a two times Super Bowl winning running back. And we hate people that see this. Apologies I should’ve been an easier conversation

I know that training techniques and nutrition are a lot better today. There’s training techniques that athletes use today that they never used 30 and 40 years ago.

It’s like when Prescott hurt his shoulder. And it was really his latissimus muscle. And I told everybody it’s like a baseball player learning how to throw faster. And I got Laughter. And then the lady said Thursday night opening day. And everybody was like oh you never said that. I had an argument with ricen and today wright’s in today I truly don’t think he knows Jack

Being protected today has nothing to do with the size and strength of players. Doesn’t look like we’re going to agree on much so I’m done. Would rather watch the game than spend all night with this.
