We rarely win with backup QBs. Washington found a way to win tonight. The Cowboys would’ve likely did with the Giants did find a way to lose.

So that’s 13 in 2016, 5 in 2020.

Oh yeah also 2010, after Romo went down, Dallas won 5 more games. So we’re up to 23 in just the last 10 years.

Oh yeah 2015, Romo went down and the backups won… 1 more I think?

Dallas has won a ton of games with backups recently. Probably more than anyone who had an incumbent long term starter each of those years.

They just won a game last year with a backup what are you talking about lol?

Even with the 2 that Andy Dalton won last season the Cowboys haven’t won more than five or six games with backup QBs the past two decades.

Dak doesn’t count he ended up being our starter. He started from day one his rookie year….next!
Yea he does not count because he was the back up to the back up his rookie season took 2 injuries to get him on the field !

:muttley: somebody looks stupid (and its not the last two posters quoted).

Count up all the games the Cowboys have won with backup QB the past two decades and see who looks stupid.

yep, he's a winner and team leader. we like team leaders. :)

So let me get this straight, you are calling a 1-3 QB whose only victory comes against the now 0-2 Giants who many predict will finish 3rd or 4th in the division, a winner (BTW, has never beat a winning team)?

Yet you trash Dak that has a 33-21 (61%) winning percentage. GTFOH.

Dude you’re just losing points as you go he was our starter from day one his rookie year. Had Romo started that season and Dak had to come in and take over it would be a different story.

He started because of injuries it is really that simple. And he did a really nice job while he was doing it um err duh uh er next!

Doesn’t matter he started from day one on opening day and never relinquished the job. He’s our franchise QB who just signed one of the highest paid contracts in NFL history. A lot of QBs begin as backups in training camp. He was named the starter before opening day.

Because Romo got hurt……just like Fitzpatrick got hurt……just admit you goofed and move on.

Fitzpatrick got hurt during the regular season. Romo got hurt in preseason. Dak started from day one and he’s never relinquish the job. You goofed but you just like to argue.

He is our franchise QB but he was Mores backup and Romo's backup He was the starter because we had nothing left to put on the field as a QB. and he did a great job

Dak was not a career backup. He was just like any other rookie who earns the right to be called the starting QB. Dak put Romo out of the job because he was the starter from day one and never relinquished his role.

In training camp he was but he moved up due to injuries to those players. Had Romo been given his job back during the season then Dak was a backup. ESPN was talking about how few games the Cowboys have won over the years with backup QB’s and none of them counted Dak as a backup. Backup QBs come in as relievers and once the starter is ready to go they’re back on the pine.
