That’s kind of where I’m at. If it’s a passing situation. Absolutely rush Parsons. Whether that’s from the edge or up the middle.

just don’t want to see him playing with his hand in the dirt on rushing downs. That doesn’t play to his strengths.
We agree. If he is an effective pass rusher off of the edge it will change are defense dramatically. Especially if LVE/Jaylon/Cox can man the middle. I am not a hater of Jaylon or LVE but both seem to be slow read/react. I am hoping Cox is at the very least gets a few reps this game.

I think he will be a fish out of water at DE. I think the problem is he won't have the strength to bull rush a Tackle and will therefore only try to run around the outside and get pushed further outside by the tackle. Now if we get a push up front and the QB has to flee the pocket then he might be able to destroy a play or two. How he does it pretty much depend on whatever push we get up front. Above said, I understand the move. We have depth at LB and we have no quality depth on the D Line.

This will be fun to watch, I can’t believe their doing it but I get why. I have a feeling his run support will be tested, but then again they’ll be blitzing him every play with the occasional drop….is this finally the switch to the 34 and we have another Demarcus Ware? Did they luck out getting Parsons or what, how much more do you want from a rookie? I somehow hope he gets some RB carries too, I don’t remember the last time a dude got a sack and a rushing TD.

It puts a 245 linebacker at the point of attack against a 300 + pound tackle . This is a head scratcher . At LB he reads reacts might even drop back in coverage . In all the time LVE has been here never once heard of putting him at DE to “ help out “ .
Ngakoue weighs 245. Danielle Hunter 252, DLaw 250, Jerry Hughes 254.

Size is not the only thing.

Should just run a 3-4 front.

I think putting Parsons hand in the dirt isn’t smart. Plus, now this guarantees Smith starts and plays the entire game.

Parsons was a DE before Penn State. So it’s not like he’s moving to a position he never played. However, he wasn’t facing 300+ offensive lineman that are in the NFL
this!!! this!!! this and this!!!! No Wilson, and more #54/#9? What could possibly happen?

Why in the world would he bull rush?

I tend to agree. Seems like he’s being put in a position to fail. Hope we’re wrong.

Not smart to just “move him to DE” without actually playing that position at training camp and having real prep for it.

sure rush him off the edge more, but if they put Parsons at DE and then put trash (Jaylon) at LB. it ain’t gonna help.

Man you got to do something....DQ doesn't have many choices.....Chargers have a rookie at LT and back up at RT......I say roll the dice and put PARSONS ...in BEAST MODE....

If anybody can do it, it’s Micah. Dude is an absolute freak. Im sure Quinn will have some tricks up his sleeve to get him going.

This could be lighting in a bottle that turns the defense around

Welp...it's worth a try. We're ina bad way there...maybe some creativity is in order.

This move would be impossible for a normal LB to do. Thankfully Parsons is an athletic freak of nature that it’s possible he could be this teams second best pass rusher

2nd best pass rusher? Who's going to be the best?

So, these professional coaches don't know what they are doing?
I think it's a good move.

This sounds like a Jerry move. "I paid for Jaylon, so I want Jaylon out there. You can't justify taking time from Parsons? Move him to DE. I want my Jaylon out there."

How much more does TJ Watt weigh than Parsons? 5 pounds?

Is this a full-time move or just in the absence of having D-Law and Gregory?
