Not happy with Moore or MM game management

not sure...but both players lined up on the right side, in a close formation and ran the same route.....and the other reciever was Jarwin running about 3 yards deep.....
I don’t know either but the blame could be on design or players depending on who actually messed up
I find it hard to believe the play was designed that way

Do they?
He missed a short kick and extra point last week
He missed 2/3 of his kicks over 50 last week
The kick was perfect but the real question was why do you gamble on a low percentage kick with plenty of time to get closer
They also could have missed a closer kick or turned the ball over trying to get closer or could have had a penalty as well.

A player came off who shouldn’t have. Did that kill some time because the defense is allowed to substitute.

McCarthy said the the Cowboys had a 17 second rule.

yes, like field goal being missed since 56 is a long field goal. he missed a 60 yarder the week before. they could have tried to get the ball closer and improve probability of making the kick.
Sure they could and they could have screwed that up instead of winning the game like they did.

I am not impressed nor happy with Moore and how he manages the game. given the weapons we have, almost anyone can create yards, score a few. we are deep at WR, RB and even with Collins out, we still have a good OL and of course a good QB...

You're kidding right? Our gameplan is finally changing week to week now that Big Mike has taken the shackles off Moore... Maybe you would like to hire Garrett as offensive coordinator instead? Do you even watch other teams? All teams have gameplans that suck or don't take advantage of strengths based on match-ups.. Live a little man, we got a good one..

If forced to do so, I would take Quinn over Moore at this point, but it's a long season yet before we cross that bridge.
The HC position for the Cowboys isn't what it once was anyway.
Last real HC here was Parcells. Before that, the list is short - Landry and Johnson.
I’d take a 50 year old parcels today
He got the very most out of the talent he had
That’s what I want in a HC
The HC doesn’t need to be a great OC or DC
They need to be a great motivator or intimidating
They need to inspire players or scare the crap out of them

Yep, and if they would have used their timeout, they would have left the Chargers with some time. Kicking as time ran out wasn't the worst thing that could have happened.

He was a .500 HC here.

It all comes to bear with that being the probable decider - the wrong guy came off and the sequence of events gets critical. They planned on the kick at any rate. What's a few more yards? The kicker either has it or he doesn't. They were banking on him having it.
Now, if they got a delay of game penalty, that would have been on the coaching.
I think they managed it as well as they could have.

Anything could have happened but the closer a kicker is the higher the chances of a successful kick
Kicks over 50 yards are at best 50/50
Yep, anything could have happened and they won and used all of the time.

but I hate the fact that Moore out smarts himself....they botched the redzone against Tampa last week. they almost botched this game.

in the 3rd quarter, we are driving, their defense can't stop the run or the pass and then Moore gets gimmiky with that college play....that was utterly stupid. next play he panics and Dak ended up getting sacked. he killed the whole momentum with his stupidty.

and at the end of the game, with 20+ seconds left on the clock, he could have run three plays and at least take one shot to the endzone...take another shot to the sideline to move the ball closer. if both failed, it was still a 50+ yard kick..instead he let the clock run out and everyone seemed confused.

it clearly showed they are not prepared for these type of moments..

same last week, in how the end of the game was managed, when players kept running out of bounds and not using the clock or forcing tampa to call timeouts...they played it stupid..

good/great coaches are made in how you make and manage the critical moments in the game. most games will be close and within a score in the 4th. if we continue to mismanage the games like this and depend on luck to win, we are not going to win too many games...

I will be happy when Moore is gone next year. he is not the wonder kid everyone makes him out to be.
I couldn’t disagree more. The offensive game planning has been right on target for the first two games. I do, however, think that the clock management on the last drive was terrible. I’ll give you that.

I just think if we continue this way, we will lose more games than win because of it. we lost Tampa game. I am not into moral victories. we should have won that game. it was mismanaged. we couldhave, should have tried to get closer given Zeurline missed a 60 yarder the week before. now trying a 56 yarder. I watch other games. and its now 2 games this year we mismanaged. last year we had similar problems. Moore had problems in 2018 as well. its a recurring issue. He is learning. I get it. but we said the same thing about Garrett....he is learning.

You say that the clock management was terrible, but they made the winning kick as time ran out which is exactly what you want.

As I said
It worked out
But whether going for 4th and 1 at opponents 40 works or not doesn’t mean it was the right or wrong decision
Just because it worked out doesn’t make it the right decision
Settling for a 56 yard kick was a bad decision even if it worked
Just like going for 4th and one at opponents 40 is the right decision even if it doesn’t work

Actually, Dak is the guy at the helm and I expect HIM to know the clock and the situation. He should have been calling a t.o. Plenty of blame to go around.

he had no talent...he took a team tht had gone 5-11 three straight years and Quincy carter as the QB to the playoffs....he admited himself he over estimated the talent on the team and began ripping it up and rebuilding it after year 2 and in 2 years he did it.
