I am not impressed nor happy with Moore and how he manages the game. given the weapons we have, almost anyone can create yards, score a few. we are deep at WR, RB and even with Collins out, we still have a good OL and of course a good QB...

but I hate the fact that Moore out smarts himself....they botched the redzone against Tampa last week. they almost botched this game.

in the 3rd quarter, we are driving, their defense can't stop the run or the pass and then Moore gets gimmiky with that college play....that was utterly stupid. next play he panics and Dak ended up getting sacked. he killed the whole momentum with his stupidty.

and at the end of the game, with 20+ seconds left on the clock, he could have run three plays and at least take one shot to the endzone...take another shot to the sideline to move the ball closer. if both failed, it was still a 50+ yard kick..instead he let the clock run out and everyone seemed confused.

it clearly showed they are not prepared for these type of moments..

same last week, in how the end of the game was managed, when players kept running out of bounds and not using the clock or forcing tampa to call timeouts...they played it stupid..

good/great coaches are made in how you make and manage the critical moments in the game. most games will be close and within a score in the 4th. if we continue to mismanage the games like this and depend on luck to win, we are not going to win too many games...

I will be happy when Moore is gone next year. he is not the wonder kid everyone makes him out to be.

McCarthy explained the last 30 seconds. Somehow both he and Moore lost their view of the game clock. Sounded more like a freak occurrence than bad coaching.

Say what you will but the coaches have adjusted well to injuries, had the team ready to play, and had good game plans both games so far. They have also been far more creative with their personnel than we've seen this team be in years. There are very few, if any, teams that come out and look perfect week to week this early in the season. Frankly I'm glad the defense is stepping up and helping the offense for once, once the offense gets rolling we could really have something if the defense keeps it up. I think they have more takeaways after 2 weeks than they did through 8 weeks last year.

McCarthy is meh so far, but we’ll see throughout the rest of the season. Given last season’s predicaments, I’ll give him another chance. We’ve had two close games, one in which we lost, the other we won, against two playoff caliber teams. Minus that time management, he’s doing something right.

Moore, I think he’s good, but I’m not sure how much of it is him, and how much of it is Dak changing the play at the line for the best matchup. Some of the plays I wasn’t a fan of, like the screens. Then, when it’s 2nd/3rd down near the red zone, just go for the down. Don’t try and get cute and waste a down for the TD. Get a fresh set of downs, get to 1st and goal, and try to get the TD from there. That was a wasted down. Some of his play sets are nice though and we moved the ball REALLY well in the first quarter. I’m hoping it was more the Chargers adjusting than Moore going too risky/soft in the following quarters, but we’ll see as time goes on.

LMAO....:lmao2:I told you guys McCarthy has no job. He's just out there taking in the scenery. I mean the head coach has no idea how much time is on the clock in a tight games final minute. This is right out of one of those twilight zone episodes. Big Mac Mike was somewhere at the beach with his favorite drink in his hand surrounded by Island girls half his age.....Game? What game????

I think Moore has been great both games but that's just me. You take what the defense gives and in both games i feel like he played to their weakness
but to me its about making the calls and managing the game when it matters most. last week, he totally botched the call when at the 2 yard line. this game he screwed his own team with a dumb formation in the 3rd....something you might do when other things aren't working or you have a huge lead or down at the goal line, not in the middle of the field. and they mismanaged the end of tampa and chargers game (despite the winning kick).

Totally agree. Saw the same thing.

I just don't think Jerry let's him go is all.

I'm all for firing bumbling Mike and installing KM as head coach. Yesterday's bungling of the end of game probably should have cost them a win. And its not his first clock / game management gaffe.

Dak was to blame as well. He’s the QB and must know these situations to call TO’s. He got a delay of game earlier when he had a ton of time.
but with one time out left. its coaches job to be talking to his QB and managing the game. I would have had the team ready to run a hurry up play to stop the clock if nothing else after I decide to run the ball with Pollard between the tackles with less 30 seconds left on the clock

so is it QBs job to manage the clock and the game or is it the coaches job? if its QBs job, then what's coaches job?

no, that was botched by the coaches. total mismanagement of the game

i totally agree about the end of game stuff but the sack is on Dak. He should have thrown the ball away so we could kick a FG

its not about perfection. its about doing things right at crucial times of the game...most games go into the 4th within a score and its how you manage the game in the 4th and how you manage the game when you are driving for the final score to win the game. if they lost sight of the clock. then they are idiots..

Parcells used to practice 2 minute situations a lot with the team. he had them prepared....we don't look prepared.

Its both. Most of the time the HC isn’t quick enough to call that TO with seconds chomping away. Romo was a master at it. So is Tom, Brees etc.

that was a bad call by Moore and then bad by dak not to change protection at the line. they attacked with 6, we had 5 blockers...that means a WR should be open. right? except all the WRs were running deeper routes, which takes longer to develop.....nobody was running a crossing route, which had an area wide open across the middle about 6-8 yards deep...

last week I mentioned the same thing, its the route combinations that pressure the defense, not necessarily a single route. last week, in the intercpetion that bounced off of CDs hands, both CD and cooper ran the same route, same area, from same side of the field, which brought 4 defenders into the area....
