Threads must be started for the the most trivial and nonsensical reasons in the never ending propping up of Dakota........Apparently there’s a minority of posters here that believe that when Dak looks bad, they look bad or vice versa.

LMAO.. The reason it "makes the leap look vertical" is because it was. The DB is literally three feet off the ground when he gets his hands on the ball. I'm still waiting for your explanation as to how this throw was "barely head high" as you claimed. I captured the pic from the video directly. It shows a guy who is 6 inches shorter than Jarwin a full foot above him.. At no point in his jump was Jarwin ever as high as Adderley got on his leap. Yet you claimed the ball was thrown too low..

The other puzzling aspect of this was that nowhere in my OP did I even mention Dak.. YOU geniuses came out of the woodwork dogging Dak in defense of Jarwin.. even going so far as to make up crap about the throw's height among other ridiculous claims. The guy beat Jarwin by being more athletic.. He beat him to the spot to take away the corner pylon throw, then beat him back to the spot for the back shoulder throw then beat him by out leaping him. It is what it is.. No matter where Dak threw that ball Jarwin was never going come down with it. THAT was my point. If he threw it toward the pylon the DB had the best angle on it. If he threw it lower then it negates Jarwin's height advantage. If he just heaved it out of the end zone the result would have been the same.. an incomplete pass and I would bet a month's salary yall would have been here screaming that he should have thrown it up and given Jarwin a chance to make a play against the smaller guy. I understand fully how this game is played..

Last week you brushed over Dak's involvement in the Cowboys Red Zone struggles, yes you mentioned possible concerns, but then put great emphasis on the game calling and the receiving.

This thread is a dog whistle argument on the same line (Blame Anyone But Dak). You've isolated one play and clustered all of your prejudices into that one play.

This was a risky(ish) play that didnt work, you blame Jarwin (yep, for two weeks running we've had the lesser TE on the field) but I doubt many would of caught that (even Gronk would of struggled - Adderley got in front of him).

The issue still remains that the variations of our Red Zone plays are seriously compromised as we dont have a QB that has pinpoint accuracy in tight windows. An accurate QB is able to put the ball in a place that only gives the receiver a chance.

You calling for ANOTHER weapon for Dak is tantamount in saying he's incapable without a team of superstars for every eventuality.

I hate the imbalanced viewpoint that Dak has no limitations and it's everyone else's fault....then give us the ABD moniker.

I do need to balance those comments by saying I'm happy with Dak and think he's a great general QB, who's superb at sustaining and managing drives. However, we do need accept that his possible lack of accuracy means we've got to devise other strategies: more longer plays from further out, more running plays, using Pollard as a hybrid WR (more Schultz, less Jarwin).

The guy who completed 88% of his passes has a lack of accuracy. Did you know Daks career completion percentage is higher than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, AND Aaron Rodgers? The only thing lacking in accuracy is your vision and football comprehension. Jarwin got punked.. (again) Blame Dak.. You guys are hilarious. It was probably Dak's fault he blew the block on the option play last week too. The pitch wasn't accurate to Zeke so Jarwin had to look back to see if Zeke caught the ball before he blocked his man which made him miss the man.. Yeah.. that's the ticket..

Well I must admit I didnt know that Dak's Red Zone accuracy was 88% and that it was better than his peers.

Some of the red zone issues still showed up again yesterday but one of the reasons I keep citing leaped out at us on the throw into the end zone in the third quarter. Dak lobbed one up really high and it's Jarwin against a DB who he has 6 inches in height and a foot in reach on and the DB wins the jump ball. Good lord. If that's Dez it's a "Git off me" touchdown. The Cowboys desperately need a legit red zone receiver to emerge if they're going to get were they wanna go. You're not always going to be able to finesse your way open in that compressed area if the defense drops 8.
Woody Harrelson can't jump either...

Naughty, naughty..... we are talking red zone (as well you know), Dak's nowhere near as accurate as Brady nor Rodgers in the red zone, and the fact that his figures drop when in the red zone actually supports the view that he's got limited accuracy when he needs it in confined spaces.

No YOU are talking red zone.. I talk about the whole field because newsflash.. They make them play the whole field.. And pretty much all QB's completion percentage drops in the red zone.. Brady's does.. Rodgers' does .. Dak's does.. That's the way it is.. get over it. If you don't believe me go look it up. Those guys are better than Dak to this point in his career.. As long as they've been in the game they're supposed to be. Let's check back when Dak has played 10 more years.. The main take away is that you're equating Dak's conservativeness in the red zone with inaccuracy. The fact that he completes a higher percentage all over the field than these greats says you're wrong. Even in the game in question he was deadly accurate... I submit that he doesn't have any trouble putting the ball where he wants it no matter what part of the field he's on. He just doesn't take as many chances in the red zone as some would like.. I'm not one of those.. I will take the more careful passer down there all day every day and twice on Sunday.

Jarwin is very average at best. he is a one trick pony at this point of his career and that's running the seam route, mid to deep in the field. Schultz is a much better over all TE and is a much better route runner. Cowboys brass got enamoured with his physical skills and handed him a contract. they should have waited. Jarwin to this date has done nothing to distinguish himself as a good TE. he comes up short in big moments and his biggest game was against a hapless Giants team about three years ago....

You started this post to highlight red zone deficiencies and took the opportunity to attribute blame on a replacement level TE whilst absolving Dak (as highlighted by your comments last week).....you're now using a strawman argument about a debate on accuracy.

My concerns are restricted to his red zone accuracy, which is 12% lower than his overall career completion%.

The problem I have with your claims is that they tend to be misleading or potentially obtuse which compromises your integrity....such as the claim above that "QB's COMPLETION PERCENTAGE DROPS IN THE RED ZONE".....well correct, however, Dak's decrease is twice that of the others and this disparity indicates he can't maintain accuracy in confined space.

Jarwin clearly jumped a tad early and he did not get position on the defender.

It looked about as Escobar'ish or Gathers'ish as you can get to me. Missed timing.

Just clearly a case where you have a scrub te playing trying to replicate a 4 TD a year te like #82 had been for 7-8 years. And he only gets 2 tds a year.

We need a TE that can replicate an 8TD+ a year te that can score and Make game winning plays when it matters. Esp if they are gonna be out there playing on critical downs where the game is on the line.

Like 3rd and 16 against Tampa and we got Jarwin on the field instead of a better faster wr or rb w more upside like pollard who has actually done something. And their secondary was dessimated. Go 4-5 wide. Omg

These tes have never made a play down the stretch, against a great team, or consistently enough to warrant their over involvement on passing downs esp in the red zone and when the game is on the line.

It doesn't matter who is the better te at this point. Just like it didn't matter when #82 was here.

What matters is whether we have the best 6 skilled players out there that can execute and win the game.

And it's clear that these SCORELESS NON PLAYMAKING tes can't execute WHEN IT MATTERS. NEVER COULD. AND NEVER WILL.

When you look at the Number of tds they avg every year and the win loss record it's a NOBRAINER THAT THESE TES ARE OVERINVOLVED ON PASSING PLAYS.

SOMEBODY HAS TO HELP THIS TEAM CARRY THE SCORING AVERAGES. WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE 2 TDS ALL YEAR IT PUTS TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE REST OF THE OTHER SKILLED PLAYERS. Esp the ones on the BENCH . LMAO

Instead of out jumping, with the defender behind him, all Jarwin needed to do was come back to the ball, a basic receiver rule….not just wait there.

Like I said several times.. Jarwin got out-athleted. And that was what surprised me because I thought pre-injury he was a pretty good athlete. He certainly did not look it on that play and then thinking back to how easily the kid in Tampa got around him to blow up that option play I am starting to worry about him. Maybe he's still got work to do to get back to where he was but color me concerned..

Pollard Lamb Wilson Cooper Schultz Zeke ….Jarwin far down the list of options in that compact area of the field. Jarwin seems to thrive in the seam down the middle .

Schultz is out performing him.

Some of us talk about the rare potential of these tes and some of us talk about how these tes are just a 5th option in the grand scheme of things. Lmao

But who is playing Jarwin and Schultz in their Fantasy Football this week? And why not?

Just imagine if we just had an 8-10 td a year te core who could actually make some big plays and score and win some games.

In order to win this team has to have multiple players that can score consistently to carry the teams scoring avgs.

When you have a 3 td a year te core opposing defenses are gonna adjust their coverage to make you beat them w those tes.

And the team is gonna have scoring consistency problems.

Zeke is not gonna score 3 tds a week running the ball

Cooper is gonna score 1 TD every 2+ games on avg.

The te position is more vital than the 3 tds were getting out of them.

Esp when that 3 td production is when the defender slips on a bananna peel in some meaningless blowout game against a scrub division rival team. Js

This will always be a mediocre team using a dominant passing te scheme that features an OVERINVOLVED te core that can't score beans.

I have money if anybody thinks this team can win a playoff game w Jarwin and Schultz.

Just imagine how bad these tes would look if we didn't have 3 great wrs. Js
