I thought I read that they were/are in the process of adding another jail in their now stadium?

I know Lincoln Financial Field had a jail in it. Last I read the jail got taken out because the owner didn't like the message it sent (I think that was the reason, though it could have been a publicity statement). I'm not sure if they are reopening it but I can't imagine it would take much to do.

I do remember Veterans Stadium banning alcohol following the Cowboys/snowball game. I don't think the ban lasted very long.

I just read that Philthy has surpassed 400 murders so far this year. What are the odds that on any given home game, at least one of the persons that committed a murder is in attendance?

Eagles fans are the closest the NFL can come to hooligans in soccer. In the old vet, the purpose for a lot of them was to get drunk and get in fights and if there weren't opposing fans, their own fans would do. It wasn't about football, it was about getting rowdy.

I was there back in the 70's on business and was at WIP on a Monday afternoon when they had some cops in on the PM drive show asking fans to tone it down at tonight's game as they had orders to detain anyone not behaving in accordance. When they were walking out I asked one of the cops if that would work and he looked at me and said "no, but the Chief asked us to try. Working these home games is a perk to most cops in other cities but here, it is punishment".

I would imagine every stadium in the league has a jail in it. Necessary evil. Know for a fact Arrowhead does.

Fans of the football team in the City of Brotherly Shove have hated the Cowboys for decades. Our younger fans may not know the history of the Cowboys-eaglet rivalry.

It’s start was really simple: We completely dominated and embarrassed them for the entire decade of the 70s. In fact, during the 70s, the Cowboys were 17-3 against the birds. We were 8-2 in their old nasty home stadium known as “the Vet”, and 9-1 against them in the old Texas Stadium.

Here’s a look at the overall rivalry between the two teams:
  • Cowboys have an overall 70-54 record against the eaglets
  • In the 60s, the Cowboys were 10-9 against filly.
  • In the 70s, the Cowboys dominated, with a 17-3 record
  • In the 80s, the two teams split 10-10.
  • In the 90s, Cowboys were 14-8. (Included 2 playoff games)
  • In the 2000-2009 decade- Birds held their only advantage 13-8. (Included a playoff game)
  • 2010-2019- Cowboys 11-9.
  • Since 2020, it’s 1-1.
  • We are 3-1 against the eaglets in the playoffs.
  • The only time the Eagles won a decade was from 2000-2009.
Frankly, as a Cowboys fan since 1964, the eaglets weren’t even a rival until maybe the late 80s. Most of the time in the 60s-80s, the big rival was the deadskins because they were actually decent in those years. The eaglets sucked for so long, they weren’t even a rival.

Let’s get back to dominating those dirty birds again.
I didn’t realize until a couple days ago that we now have 70 wins over them. I thought the series was closer than that mainly because the Eagles made up ground in the 2000s. I think this series is actually closer than Washington and the Giants.

Cowboys are 73-47-2 all time vs WFT. (We’ve played the WFT 4 more times than the midgets because of multiple playoff games vs the skins. Not as many vs NYG)
Cowboys are 69-47-2 all time vs NYG.

Most of the dominance happened in the 70s, a little more in 90s.

I've lived in the Philly area all my life. Been a fan of the Boys since 70 with Roger the Dodger. The Cowboys occupy so much brain space of Birds fans that it's comical. They are consumed with beating the Cowboys. I remember going to a game in the 80s and watching a dude with a Cowboys jersey go into a port-a-potty before the game while everyone was tailgating. A bunch of Eagles fans ran over and tipped it over on it's side with him in it. I waited till I got into the stadium to go after watching that

They also booed Santa Claus, lol.

I wouldn't be surprised. They'd boo their own grandmother if she liked the Cowboys, and applaud if she fell and was injured.
Philly fans are lowlife.

Well, I was born in South Philly and moved to South Jersey. I have dealt with Eagle fans forever it seems. Why did I become a Cowboy fan? My uncle played football with Roger Staubach at the Naval Academy. I met Roger and became inspired to become a football player because of him. I grew up to be 6'4", 245 and eventually started at linebacker/DE for three years at Rutgers and made it to the Commanders and Giants camps. I didn't make the cut, but at least I had a fair chance. Here are some insights for the crowd.

The true start of Eagle fan hatred of all things Dallas probably begins with the dirty hit Lee Roy Jordan laid on their pro-bowl running back Timmy Brown near the end of the 1967 season. He threw a forearm/elbow to the face of the Brown, knocking out nine of his teeth (newspaper said four, Brown said it was really nine after the counting was over). Back then it would have been considered a little bit dirty. By today's standards you're suspended for half the season.

The Vet was a toilet bowl with cement painted green for a playing surface. In reality, it was one of the last of the old "cookie-cutter" all-purpose stadiums. I played football, wrestled, and baseball in high school. Every year the surrounding counties in Philly and South Jersey sent all-star teams to play in the Carpenter Cup series, named after one-time Phillies owner Ruly Carpenter. I played in the outfield. How hard was the "field?" I had a fly ball land about 10 feet in front of me and literally bounce 15 feet into the air over my head. That's how hard the playing surface was.

Highlights (lowlights) from the Vet that I have personally seen:
--Fan in 700 level wearing an Aikman jersey had the jersey ripped off his back and jersey set on fire. At least they didn't put the fan on fire.
--Fan in 700 level wearing a Dorsett jersey beaten and kicked down the concrete stairs.
--Fans trying to navigate the tailgate parties while wearing any Cowboy gear spat upon, had stuff thrown at them, cursed at, and one nasty guy ran up to a little boy and tried to pee on him.
--I had to personally intervene when a few drunken fools were harassing a very attractive woman wearing her Aikman jersey. He threw mustard on her jersey. I ran out and grabbed him and told him to lay off. He told me to go F myself. I picked him up and body slammed him on a parked car hood. I was bulked up to about 260 by then and always hitting the gym, benching 400. No one messed with me or the girl after that.

The Wendell Davis story is true; blew out both knees on the same play. There were never enough toilets in the Vet, so people just peed in the sinks. It was so bad for women that it was not unusual to see one just squat and let it fly.

The city today is part hell hole/part wealthy area. Rittenhouse Square has awesome dining and shopping, some of the best outside of New York City, and Center City has plenty of history and culture. Rich $$$$ on the Main Line. South Philly without the Mafia and police keeping the place safe has declined, but the neighborhood residents are fighting back against the "woke" nonsense (the over-the-top part of it) that has infested the city. North Philly, called "The Badlands" by the police, resembles a GTA5 server, while West Philly looks more like a CoD server. Kensington, especially around K&A, is the largest open air heroin market on the east coast. It resembles Zombieland. Philly just broke the 400 murder number. If you want to see what doesn't get reported, just look up Philadelphia on the Citizen App and be amazed.

Very few of the city's sports athletes live in Philly. I will say the Lincoln Financial Field is nothing like the Vet in terms of bad behavior, but I can't think of any place in U.S sports that was.

This is the city of tonight's opponent.

Edit: The real story of Santa and the snowballs is rather funny and not what most people think. Maybe I'll tell it later.

We’ll done Bob. I’d only add that we actually had some rivalry developing in early 80’s beginning in 1980 championship game. Not much after than until the 90’s. And it heated up with Buddy Ryan bounties.

Egirl fans basically hate everyone in division cause until recently were only team without a SB championship. But they hate us the most now.

They are the worst fans in the league and I’ve been to all of our rivals. I’d rather attend a game in a third world country.

I remember some old rivalry games in late 70's early 80's when they had Jaworski, Carmichael, Montgomery etc

Remember when Jimmy was pelted with snowballs with batteries stuffed in them?
I am a St. Louis Cardinals Fan they threw heated Nickels at OF JD Drew because he refuse to sign with them when they drafted him.
