Please tell me I'm not the only one that has serious reservations about our D? I mean a consistent theme is receivers running wide open - especially RB's out of the backfield ......eventually this will start costing more than a 2pt defeat moral victory.....I mean yes we have balled offensively .....but this D has me concerned - STILL
nobody is mistaking it....but compare it to last year....all I wanted to see is improvement and there is no denying we see improvement. we are seeing turnovers, pressures and sacks....yes, we need to get the big plays under control, but that will come. lets not forget we are missing some of the troops as well.....and this is only the 3rd game in a new scheme.

Didn't they just play in PT or Prime Time?

Of course it remains to be seen how they will do against a very good team.

The D is better than last year
I said numerous times in the off season if we can improve to average in D we can be a good team
We’ve improved enough to be average I think
But we also have some young guys like osa and parsons who will get even better as the season goes on. And we will get back some players who can help this defense
I don’t see elite but then again no rational person could have expected from the bottom of the trash bin to elite in one off season
By seasons end I expect them to be above average

I am concerned about the TEs running wide open 15 yards down field all night. Not sure what that was all about. I am also still concerned about the middle of the defense against a strong front.

True. Right now they will make mistakes but they shake it off, get their heads back into the game and make plays. I would love never to give up a big play, to never give up a TD but that is not reality which many can't seem to wrap their heads around.

They happen....more times than not from miscommunication or player trips but what gets me is the mess we saw last year where they couldn't get off the field. Teams consistently had long drives up and down the field. The fact they've improved that part of their game along with the turnover ratio is huge.

Look I agreed....but I'm telling you & everyone else.....our D is missing basic assignments- and it will eventually cost us

That is why it is important to Quinn to look at the tape and clean those up. Right now there are a lot of missing parts on this defense and Quinn is playing a lot of guys all the while putting in his defense. Personally I expect them to continue to work and learn as they continue on. However I have no doubt players are buying into what Quinn is selling

I'm hoping/praying we can be top 15 by end of the season..........if so, we have a chance at some good things

Maybe when we get some players back things will tighten up but right now they are just getting gashed right and left. Any team that has an efficient offense/QB will just walk right through them... most teams though shoot themselves in the foot eventually.

True but I also expect this defense to improve as the season moves forward and as some players who are missing return to the lineup. I'm a bit less concerned with where they rank at the end of the year I'm more interested in seeing them improve as a unit and to continue to step up and make plays. Right now this team leads the league in take aways vs 2 top teams in Tampa and LA Chargers, as for Hurts he had no turnovers in his 1st 2 games, last night he did

Why did Cox play during obvious passing down is puzzling to me. He’s better than Smith or LVE in those situation.
Then coaches didn’t even put him in during garbage time to gain some valuable game experience?

Cox did play in the last defensive series.

Yes, we couldn't possibly get better once we get all of our starters/rotation guys back that aren't even playing right now...

Big plays are becoming a norm in this league. Every defense gives them up every game seemingly. I like what I see compared to last year. Our secondary is actually being active and making plays. We seem to get more pressure without blitzing. It is night and day from the last few years.

I agree
Getting Dlaw, Armstrong, Gallimore and company back will really help
More experience from the young players will help
If we keep this take away train going we could be really good
Ranking on yards is really not a great stat
Points given up and take away sis a much better stat to determine a good defense
One exciting part of last night was most of the time the Eagles got a stop against us it was when we stopped ourselves
The offense putting pressure on teams to score 30 helps the defense. The defense stopping teams and getting take away s helps the offense
When you got both clicking you can win some football games

The defense gave up one real touchdown. The other was garbage time. The 3rd score was handed to them by the QB.

I'd say you're exaggerating.
OMG .... Risen talking about "garbage time" and it's NOT directed towards Dak?

I'm hoping/praying we can be top 15 by end of the season..........if so, we have a chance at some good things
Our first two games was against good offenses so that has an effect on ranking
But over a full season you play some good, some bad and some in between offenses so by the end of season we should be in top 15
If we keep getting take always then you keep putting your offense back on the field and that gets you wins which is the ultimate stat
