Interesting question is what will he take on a 1 year deal.

For us I can see us being interested if he is willing to play on a vet min (or near), or even for our remaining space (4mil). After drafting 2 CB's in the top 100 last year, I dont think we will be willing to look at him on a multi year. Maybe a two year deal, but a two year deal is probably Gilmores worst case scenario

I agree. I think he’s be a quality add for a team that thinks they have a legitimate shot at a championship THIS YEAR. If the Cowboys front office feels they are (and they often do), I would bet that they make a call.

But I would still expect him to ultimately sign with Tampa Bay.

I would hope that the FA would stop being passive and realize that this is a potentially very special year and to make all opportunities to get us a SB. Somebody needs to tell Stephen that he's not going to be better than teams like the Rams, Chiefs or Bucs if he refuses to utilize FA. There's no reason we shouldn't have tried to sign Sherman and there's no reason we shouldn't try to sign Gilmore. This passive stuff is weak

I agree with this and why I think he’ll be a buc most likely but possibly a chief, however if a team wanted to give him that security up front (which wouldn’t be too wise) maybe that could sway him and that does seem kind of like a jerry move. Even though still very unlikely.

The Cowboys already have cap issues next year. I’d be surprised if they added to them by giving Gilmore a multi-year deal.

For me it would be a definite signing for playoffs. Our CB's right now should be good enough to get us there. But there are potential mismatches that could get bounced. Adding a guy like Gilmore could help prevent that. Granted we can close to beating TB even with a disadvantage, so its not a guarantee we cant overcome it

I don't see Dallas making the move to get Gillmore, the release of Jaylon gives cap relief after next season and I think there are some key players on this team who will become FA that Cowboys will now have the chance to resign.
I was just typing this.
For once, the bargain bin shopping this front office always tries has paid off. Plus the normal free agents coming up.
Gregory, Williams, Gallup, LVE, Hooker, Kazee, Neal, Urban and Schultz are all free agents in 2022.

I dont think he will get top 5 market value at 31/32, but I dont see him signing for less than 16 million per. I dont see the Cowboys paying that for what will be a #2 CB, even if they had outs in 2023

Dallas is 20 million over the cap next year with a bunch of free agents on the team....

This is that point where people get excited with the hope we sign him and they pass or he goes to another team.
And the life of a beaten down cowboy fan continues.

I see Bob has spread his hate amongst the staff.

Hurts to see it.

I’m guessing here but I expect him to sign a one year deal and work on re-establishing himself for more money in the next one. His stock is at an all-time low right now.
This is how I think it works out as well.
