it was a joke guys, calm down.. I thought the SMILEY would give it away.. guess not. I have no want, need or desire to cut Gallup.. I want him over Cooper.
We take our football very seriously. And I’m just not sure where you fit in . I appreciate your clarifying. That’s why I only asked a question. Without giving you a hard time

Hate to say it but every game he misses increases our odds of keeping him this off-season just a little bit - right?? ;):confused:o_O

I don't know he has 3 years of evidence of his ability I don't think his value decrease based on this calf injury. Right now all I care about is being able to add another weapon back into the offense after the bye week (if he is ready)

Unless you're Michael Gallup's accountant!

NFL teams know what he is capable of, I don't think players are just judged by the season heading into FA. I think most would look at the overall production of the player. Unless of course the injury was sever enough to warrant concerns.

I think "the emergence of Cedrick Wilson" (who is a JAG) has more to do with how great our quarterback is than Cedrick Wilson.

It's a combination of things. It's pretty much the same reason Shultz is playing well. The attention is elsewhere. People right on these boards were saying our TEs would benefit before CD Lamb played his first game. More attention to Lamb, Cooper, and our run game. Much less to TEs and WRs 3 and 4.

I think it's time to admit our QB is underrated **. And top 5. Currently he's #1 in the MVP race, Josh Allen close behind at #2.

See you assume the same thing I did. I think you need to calm down just as well. Don’t you get the hypocrisy of what you just did

The Cowboys will continue to be without wide receiver Michael Gallup in their upcoming game against the Giants despite being eligible to return under NFL rules after spending four weeks on the injured reserve. Gallup injured his calf in the second half of the Cowboys' opening game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Mike McCarthy didn't sound like the playmaker was particularly close to suiting up in a game.

"He's making progress," McCarthy said. "I'm not going to give you timelines. He won't be available this week. I'd be hard pressed to think he'll be available [the following week] in New England."

After the Patriots game on Oct. 17, the Cowboys have a bye week before returning to the field in Minnesota on Oct. 31.

The Cowboys' offense has not seemed to struggle in his absence with both Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb playing up to their potential as well as the emergence of Cedrick Wilson and Noah Brown as reliable receivers who look more than comfortable in the team's offense.

Gallup caught four passes for 36 yards in the loss to Tampa Bay before leaving the game with his calf injury. He will be a free agent in the offseason.

Updates: McCarthy Shows Support For Collins (dallascowboys.com)

Keep in mind that after going for 13 catches 139 yards and 2 TD's against TB, Cooper has only 9 catches 119 yards and 1 TD in his last 3 games. Furthermore, after going for 7 catches 104 yards and 1 TD against TB, Lamb has only 13 catches 160 yards and 0 TD's........so while the Dallas running game has impacted the WR stats, I think Gallup being out also has something to do with that.

The QB has to be a given. If he sucks nothing is going to work. He's got a good supporting cast, but so do the rest of the so called top end QBs. But Dak is playing like a top pocket passer in this league. Can't ask more from him.

Dak is playing great but Wilson is still a great player. Just go back and look at his spin move to get into the end zone vs Carolina. He was never a super flashy player at Boise State but he was great at coming down with the ball and getting YAC.

Missing half the season before he hits FA sure doesn't help.

We need KJ back more desperately than Gallup, because AB stinks and has stones for hands

I don't understand why so many think Joseph is this seasons savior at CB? He played very little college football and had 1 amazing game against Smith. He wasn't too impressive during the preseason and training camp either. He certainly has athleticism, but the learning curve will likely keep him down on the depth chart for the forseeable future. I thought there was a chance as the season went on he may end up starting later in the season, but with the time missed I'm not expecting him to take over Brown's spot anytime soon.

Diggs was awful first few games of last year, but like Joseph he had all the talent in the world to learn. Brown has peaked and just isn't talented enough to be a starting corner in the NFL and never will be. Only way to become great is on the job training. You can't hold back your young studs because you're afraid they might make a mistake or two.

Because Garrett is the Giants OC the NFL has requested the Cowboys to sit their starting players to make it a competitive game

With the Cowboys playing a lot of 12 personnel - 1 RB and two TEs - Gallup would not be seeing much time unless it was at the expense of Lamb or Cooper.
