Its still a big cap hit if they cant work out an extension. 15M last year, probably 17 or so this year. Tag tends to raise the bar on a contract. I don't know of a team would do that for Gallup.

I think the most we could get for Gallup is a 4th. Probably closer to a 5th

Im guessing he is right. A trading team will only have Gallup half the season, and he will be a FA after the season.

I think Ertz comp is a solid benchmark for what we could expect from Gallup. He is likely to get us a 3rd round comp in 2023 if we keep him and let him walk. Plus I think our best bet to go deep in the playoffs this season is overpowering teams with our WR's. Next year, when some of our recent defensive draft picks are more experienced, we should be more balanced. But right now, teams not being able to defend us is our best bet for 2021

If that’s the case the keeping Gallup for the rest of the season is a no-brainer.

You don’t need an all pro at each position to match up well with your opponent

Bucs barely beat the Eagles. Cowboys would wax them if they played again. People seem to overlook that the Cowboys didn't have Zack Martin that game. I think the Cowboys would be able to run the football better if he's in the lineup. Plus the Bucs have like 5 dbs hurt. Anthony Brown would upgrade the Bucs secondary at this point.

stop..you said we have a weakness at CB compared to the buccs (and the other teams you listed) 3rd WR..I said all the teams you listed will have the same problem and we are actually a top team that gives that problem...you have yet to say "nope this team has a CB room that deep" your skating around a little today Aero everything ok?

Skating around What? Because of what another team has, that means You should stay complacent with your CB depth? It is clearly the weak point of your defense, and possibly your team as a whole. Improving that position will improve the team more than any other.

If GB has a worse third corner, That makes you feel better about giving up the most passing yards in the entire NFL? Never accept good enough

4/68 is 17m a year. Paying him the 17-20m franchise tag to extend the time it takes to work out that deal may not be a horrible consideration

Ok what corner should we go get? I'm saying no team is stacked at Corner...wether its the weak (I mean Diggs and Brown have several INT's) link on our team or not EVERY TEAM has those links....Do I wish we could have all pro's at every position..sure. Its not realistic in the salary cap age...kinda like saying "its a no brainer the Eagles will draft 3 all pros with those #1 picks" is it great to get them absolutley is the hard part of that done yet..No lets see how they use them...right?

Yes you have to do something. If it means bringing up someone else, that could work. But holding on to your draft picks and then watching Dallas lose a shootout in the playoffs would be such a gut punch.

I don’t think Dallas fans realize yet quite how dire this is: Dallas is currently giving up the most passing yards per game in all of nfl history. Meaning even if this was still just a 16 game season, 2021 DC would be known as the worst pass D of all time. Blowing teams out and having them get garbage time yards does inflate it, but 311 YPG allowed is absolutely incredible

You’re gonna have to string a bunch of games together against bad QBs to avoid that stigma… or fix your Cb depth behind Diggs

Jarwin is getting less targets because of Schultz. Ertz is not taking targets from Schultz if he were a Cowboy.

Ertz and Schultz are FAs after the season. Jarwin is signed for $5M which is excellent for a TE of his caliber.

Jarwin sucks? You have no clue when it comes to player and talent evaluation.

Ertz is getting less targets because of Goedert who is now clearly their #1 TE. That's why eagles traded him.

Jarwin is not playing anywhere close to his contract. And 5M for a back up up TE is way way too much. He is not anywhere close to any calibur of player that u think he is. Getting rid of his contract and opening money to sign schultz who is clearly among the better TEs in the league would be a better move.

And Ertz is out performing and actually doubling jarwins output as a backup TE.
