I remember that game.. I was in town working that week and still remember there was ice everywhere.. I had an inkling to try to go to that game but it was SO damn cold and I had a flight out that night so I opted to watch it on TV from the hotel. Nobody scored that day except FGs as I recall.
My Mom was with me at the game. She decided she was going to get us some "hot" chocolate. She was gone for a long time. When she finally got back, she said she had to go clear across to the other side of the stadium from where our seats were. It was so cold that day, that the hot chocolate she brought back was very very cold....basically we drank cold chocolate milk!! LOL

It sure would be nice to beat the Patriots..I know Brady is not there but stlll. The last game I remember us winning against them, they still had Bledsoe starting..maybe one slipped my mind though.

I wanna say we scored a TD....but my memory is a bit foggy from that long ago!! LOL

I just looked it up.. all FGs.. Boniol beat Vinatieri 4-2 that day. Both teams struggled badly on offense that day and as the day wore on I remember it getting colder and nastier by the minute. I think it was in the high 40's when the game started and in the low 30's once the sun went away in the second half. That was the day we found out that Adam Vinatieri was really fast when he was able to chase down Herschel on that long kickoff return. Of course Herschel had had to break 3-4 tackles and had run about 3X as far so he had a lot less left in the tank but it was still an impressive play by Vinatieri.

For some reason I remember that game being on a Saturday afternoon. I could be wrong.

Also if memory serves, Dallas also beat Green Bay that season on FG only.

If I'm not wrong they beat each SB participant that season without scoring a TD.

With Philly having their top pick, Miami needs to start winning some games.

Jacksonville would be a nice start but not looking like a layup.

If you’re talking about the 7 field goals we kicked against Green Bay, that was more than a decade later than this Pats game. That Green Bay game was on Monday night. Maybe you’re talking about a different Green Bay game though.

Wrong one....the last win AT NE was the 87 game.

A few weeks after the GB Monday night game, they beat NE at home 12-6.

Yeah they beat the Packers 21-6 on 7 Boniol FGs earlier that season. I really thought the Cowboys had gotten their crap together that year when they clobbered the Vikings in that wildcard game. Emmitt looked like Emmitt that day.. But the thing that stood out to me was how bad Troy looked that year when Emmitt was not dominating. I think he had 2 picks and no TDs against the Pats and an INT with no TDs against the Packers.. Then of course that forgettable 3 INT 1 TD performance against the Panthers in the playoffs.. Though I can't be too hard on him for that one since I think both Mike and Deion ended up getting hurt early in that one. But that does remind me of how hard people are on Dak when he hasn't had good receivers.. I think those people should go back and watch how bad Troy looked when he didn't have good receivers.. QBs need guys on the other end to get open and catch the ball.. They tend to look bad when they don't.

Yeah that and the fact that Troy Aikman had twice the talent of Prescott.

Colts too. Or the most durable player in league history has to miss time.

I was at that game in 1996 in Texas Stadium!! I fell down a hill walking to the stadium and had to go to their first aid station! Still have the scar on my knee!! It was all worth it since we won!! Good times!! :D

The hill on the South side of 183?

We used to park in that Diner parking lot by the Days inn hotel. cost $20 to $30. got there 2 hours before the game. Maybe a little less. Had breakfast for noon games, or late games, food and beers.
I hated that walk. I had to walk down a ways to where the hill was not so steep. As my ankles and feet paid could not take that hill.
There was a field a little further down used for parking as well as the hotel lot. Which I parked in both.
That wa sa long walk and was a pain if too hot or too cold.

Jerry and the City of Irving should have invested in steps. :muttley:
