Payton had 17 years of various coaching jobs before Jerry let him go. I agree, bad decision.

Kellen has a whopping three as of right now. He is not ready and nothing will convince me otherwise
You are right, but would you keep MM over Moore?

It could be a decade of on the job training, but I would choose that over keeping MM and losing Moore. MM is a fat version of Garrett. He makes the same in-game mistakes and I think MM and Garrett attended the same class for their time management skills. I would hate to rush Moore’s development, but I would hate to lose him.

Promote to AHC and shell out some $$$, problem solved.

If things continue to go our way this season, there is no doubt Kellen Moore could be a hot HC candidate for someone next year. Do we just fire MM and promote him to HC? Do we have someone else on the staff to continue with this offense? I know its premature to worry about this, but its a likely scenario
Moore is certainly off to a great start. He’s a very talented guy who will draw a ton of interest this off season.

But don’t forget, he still hasn’t won a playoff game as an OC and there are several OCs that have very impressive resumes that are also in line to be a HC. Eric Bienemy of KC has a ring and two AFC championships, Pete Carmichael, Jr, the Saints OC has a ring and multiple playoff wins, Kevin O’Connell, the Rams OC is very similar to Kellen Moore as a rising star. So it’s no guarantee that KM is an NFL HC next year.

True, but someone like the freakin’ Eagles or Giants might try to get him for 2 big reasons…1)their current coaches suck, and 2)they like anything that might hurt the Cowboys.

..the way I see it. Kellen is young, time is on his side. He's got something great here. I say he signs a 3 yr deal. MM will be back. Winning lots of games carries gains for everyone.

I think the rest of our games should give Jerry the necessary info to make the right decision about what to do with Kellen and Mike. As it now stands, Mike and Kellen have both done well and the final determination may well depend upon future occurrences. It's up to Jerry to decide -- that's the reality of this situation. Hopefully, the remainder of our schedule should offer further evidence as to which route to take. It's up to the Dallas brass and their advisors.

As things now stand, Jerry Jones is quite possibly torn as to what to do to resolve this thing. Both McCarthy and Moore have performed very adequately, considering how well this team is functioning. Many clues that are yet to be revealed should help to decide what to do, with 11 games left to play. Maybe time and circumstances will ultimately help to tell that tale. I doubt Jerry and his advisors have already made up their minds, at this juncture.

This is one of the few times having Jerry is advantageous. He can do sweet talk and sacks of cash like nobody else.

No one wanted McCarthy for YEARS until Jerry hired him off the scrap heap.

That kind of argument cuts both ways.

That seems like a possibly logical approach, to me. There's no guarantee Kellen would find immediate success as a head coach. Right now, he's working towards further establishing his reputation as an OC of sound reasoning. Mike McCarthy is also proving he's able to perform quite adequately, himself. Sometimes, it's best to stick with the success you've already seen before moving on to other destinations. Perhaps more time would prove helpful.

We're winning the division and I think more. How do you fire a head coach who takes you into the play offs. Is Moore Head Coach material?

Your talking about the guy who fired a 2 time SB coach who built the greatest team of the 90's.

You do realize this right?

You let him get even better and promise him the job when the McCarthy era is over...

Better than the best most balanced most dominant offense in the NFL?

Tony Romo and Troy Aikman are not the only ones who unequivocally state that KM will be a HC next season.

You're going to lose great coordinators in the NFL it's a given, and much like players when you lose them it's next man up - just make sure you pick a good man. Kellen is as good as gone.

Big Mike still getting no credit . wow .

His current image should, logically, improve at this point. ;)

You'd imagine additional success should rightly inspire added confidence!! o_O

It would only seem like the changes in this team's culture and resilience would help his cause! :)

I credit McCarthy for letting Moore do what he does best. Thats a true coach. Where he isn't afraid to give the limelight to Kellen. Garrett, on the other hand, would not have stand for Moore calling the plays as he see's fit.

I for one thinks that Moore will stick around. Give him enough money and it will make it hard for him to decide whether to stay in Dallas or go coach the Jaguars.
