Just check what the better DL signed for in free agency this past offseason. That's the likely starting point.

Robert Quinn is a good comparison I think... super talented speed rusher with a late career breakout (or re-emergence after several down years). Quinn got 5 years/$70M on the open market and that was 2 years ago.

I would think he lands in the 15-17 range if he continues this pace and quality of play. I would sign him for that and let Demarcus walk next year. Take my 8 mill of cap savings and wash my hands of him. I don't know how that could be the wrong move with a 27 and 29 mill cap charge of Lawrence for the next 2 years - that's insane!

Fair to say that Gregory does not belong in Tier 1. I think he probably fits somewhere between Shaq Barrett and Cameron Jordan so 17-18m range....that's if he gets double digit (12-13) sacks this season he's currently projected to do.

Lawrence signed his contract after consecutive trips to the pro-bowl where he got 14.5 sacks (2017) and then 10 sacks (2018) and sack numbers underrated his performances IMO. Gregory does not have that multi-year history.
