What do you see Randy Gregory's market value being

I'd offer him an incentive laiden contract. Jerry has stuck by him and is the primary reason Gregory has this opportunity to play in the NFL. If any player owes us a home town discount, Its Randy Gregory.

You do realize Josh Gordon is still getting chances. I don't think it's a given that Gregory would be out of chances if Dallas had cut him. To be completely honest, given the fact that he cost Dallas nothing while suspended, it wasn't a huge sacrifice on Jerry's part.

Now, I think Jerry does or at least should get credit by trying to put a support system around Gregory, but if you think that warrants a discount on what will likely be his *only* pay day, you're mistaken

If he can maintain and get better, produce a year of double digit sacks maybe he’s worth the 10+ mill per year. Not sure how much guaranteed, still don’t trust him 100% . Let’s see it first!

T Crawford got 10 mill a year here. No way Jerry lets him go if that is what he signs for!
JJ has so much time invested in this guy. I wondered and i know I am dreaming here but, was wondering if Gregory and JJ didn’t have a kind of verbal deal that if he stuck with him instead of just cutting him like we all wanted that Gregory would indeed return the favor if it panned out and he got to play again. I know if I was Gregory and screw the pooch so many times that I would give him a great deal to play there.

I mean you keeping in my threads just to say that they are stupid. Im clearly in your head rent free
no clearly you need a wake up call..your posts lack creativity and are stale :) so im spicing them up with some controversy just to make them palatable.

Im bat man you are the joker, we cant exist without each other..

:lmao:

He looks to be primed to post double digit sacks this season. Given that he is a free agent, what do you think his market value is. Not "home town discount" value " or "take this much, or he can kick rocks" value, his actual market value
He's not a free agent until this season is over for the Cowboys. The Cowboys will use every bit of that time to evaluate his market value. So it's a bit of a disadvantage to attempt to answer that question right now. His arrow is pointing up but we'll still have to wait and see.

in the interview he gave with that girl she asked him about a potential payday if he keeps this level of play up and he said “i’m just doing my job. if i can keep doing that, the money will be there whether here or somewhere else” kinda jumped out at me

That's the real deal about the situation. He was honest. Fans here are positioning themselves to hate Gregory if he takes more money elsewhere because they believe he "owes" the Cowboys for holding on to him when they only held on to him because he was cheap with a potential reward. They also love stating that he would not have a job elsewhere which is false because potential first rounder reclamation projects happen all the time. If Aldon Smith got a look, Greagory surely would have.

You have gone over the 30 second daily allotment I have given for your bafoonery. Either wait 24 hours from the time of your last posting, or PayPal me $19.99 for an additional 30 seconds of attention.

Once the 24 hours is up, or the $19.99 is paid, then I will read this post

Says during his time with The Cowboys that Gregory has collected 6.8 million dollars. That includes 2 million for this year. Says he signed a 1 million dollar deal for this year but sportrac says 2.1 actual. That’s a lot of money for someone that has been suspended more than in the field.

Not sure if it means anything in today’s world but the Cowboys were patient and gave Randy a break when they could have given up on him. Is that worth anything? Not sure hopefully Randy takes in consideration what the team did for him and is fair on the contract.

That’s disappointing considering all JJ and his family has done for him. Could have cut him a few years back and nobody would have touched him.

I believe Gregory is just scratching the surface with the type of defense this team is playing.

I don't begrudge him one bit. Just stating that he said it, so expectations are tempered. Hope they keep him around though. I will say though, that there's a difference between a reclamation project once cleared to play, and being supportive throughout.

That’s my thoughts also but. They have a short career and JJ offers him 8-10 million and another team offers multi year 15 a year and he will be on the next thing smoking out of town. I am not sure given his problems if he will get offered multi year but at the same time his problem was only weed. Now it’s a slap on the wrist. But maybe his trouble is retroactive and if he gets busted again they will suspend him indefinitely.

Great that you notice that because a ton will not if he beasts out all year and then leaves. Agreed on your final point. That's part of the team's leverage to getting something done but it's his decision if he'll need to leave money on the table for it.

Didn’t Aldon go elsewhere and get in more trouble again.

Never mind just looked it up.. JJ must have smelled something. We let him go and he signed with the seahags for league minimum and got cut for another off field issue.

wondering if push comes to shove if they'd consider tagging him? de tags are exorbitant, but you also don't want to just lose the guy if you can't extend him. what is the highest comp pick you can get?

Your post has me flashing back to Alonzo Spellman and Dimetrius Underwood lol. They should have been a WWE tag team

Not sure on the comp picks but the tag risks pissing him off and definitely leaving unless you give in to his $ demands. And then he's a 1-year rental again that you'd have to replace. We're already thinking we might need to replace Tank. Those would be huge holes to fill.
